Functional Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the Project Manager, the Senior Engineer in biomedical engineering will have to perform the following tasks :

  •  Accompany the UNOPS technical team assigned to the execution of the project (s) in which he / she will be assigned.e
  •  Prepare the technical specifications required for the purchase of equipment
  •  Participate in the technical and financial evaluation processes of the offers received for medical equipment / furniture
  •  Press hospital room verification visits before equipment is received
  •  Work closely with the team of the Ministry of Health and hospital staff
  •  Monitor and coordinate with suppliers
  •  Monitor deliveries, facilities, start-up of medical equipment / furniture within beneficiary health institutions
  •  Work in close collaboration with the support team in order to optimize the activities of the project (s) in which he / she will be assigned
  •  Perform all other tasks according to the instructions of the Project Manager in order to facilitate the execution of the deliverables of the project (s) in which he / she will be assigned. e.

Monitoring and Progress Control

Make sure you have a good command of the products expected for each activity in which he / she is involved, within the tolerance limits specified with regard to deadlines, costs, quality, scope, risks and benefits. The engineer.e principal.e in biomedical engineering must also ensure that the results of the project make it possible to obtain the benefits set out in ( s ) project documents.

Final product

The engineer.e principal.e in biomedical engineering must participate, under the direction of his supervisor, in the drafting of the various reports as defined in the communication plan of ( es ) project ( s ) to which he/she will be affected.

Education / Experience / Language requirements

Education:

  •  A master’s degree in biomedical and / or electrical engineering and / or industrial maintenance and / or industrial engineering or equivalent is required
  •  Project management certification is an asset

Experience:

  •  Five ( 5 ) years of relevant professional experience in the field of biomedical engineering are required
  •  Successful work experience with a variety of health sector stakeholders, especially governments and development partners, is desirable
  •  Work experience in the hospital environment is desirable
  •  Work experience with developing countries and / or major global donors such as the World Bank, the Global Fund, USAID, etc. is an advantage.

Language Requirements

  •  Mastering French is required
  •  Mastering English is an advantage.
