Responsible(e) monitoring and evaluation At Merieux Foundation


Context :

The British government has supported the Fleming Fund since 2015; it aims to address the global threat of drug-resistant infections, including, also known as antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The Fleming Fund’s national grant program (CG2), managed by Mott MacDonald, aims to improve the ability of countries to diagnose drug-resistant bacteria by, generate data and strengthen surveillance to inform policies and practices at the national and international levels.

The Merieux Foundation has been selected to support the implementation of the national grants program in Senegal, over a period of 19 months (starting in July 2024).

Main mission :

Under the responsibility of the/leader(fe) of the Fleming Fund CG2 project, the/leader(e) Monitoring and Evaluation will provide technical support to S&S activities&E planned within the framework of the Fleming Fund CG2 project and will oversee the collection of data for monitoring the overall performance of the project in accordance with established objectives, indicators and milestones, and, while ensuring compliance with the protocols and the organizational policies of the Merieux Foundation.

Main activities :

  • Set up and feed a system of monitoring and evaluation of the project in connection with the/the Project Manager(fe) and the partners of’ execution to meet the internal requirements and those of the funder ;
  • Design and monitor a monitoring and evaluation plan to collect, consolidate, and, analyse and present the data generated to support project management and report on project progress and impact ;
  • Monitoring of reporting by’implementation partners : creation and sending of data collection media, monitoring of deadlines, technical support for filling ;
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of project reports and supervise responses to partners in order to meet regular and occasional reporting requirements ;
  • Maintain and regularly update the M&E system to collect, analyze, visualize and report on internal and external requests ;
  • Provide technical assistance in the implementation of all activities related to the management of data.

Profile :

  • Education : Higher Diploma in Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Economics or equivalent (anthropology, sociology, statistics) ;
  • Additional training /specialisation : Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Experience in the position : At least three years of experience in program evaluation and design, health and development program M&E, participatory evaluation and monitoring, and, security as well as data processing and analysis.
  • Required skills :
    • Demonstrated analytical skills to measure the results of the project and support the supervision of the project.
    • Experience and competence in writing follow-up and communication reports on the results and impacts of the project.
    • Understanding of the challenges of the’approach « One Heath » of human, animal and environmental health.
    • Familiarity with information and data management systems.
    • Ability to oversee data collection at different levels to ensure accuracy and clarity of data interpretations.
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and ability to communicate technical information in a clear and effective manner.
    • Mastery of the MS Office suite and at least one statistical software.
    • Knowledge of key global health indicators and more specifically the global resistance surveillance system is a plus

Salary & contract :

Monthly salary TTC*: between 749 750FCFA and 845 500FCFA according to experience.

Fixed term contract, 19 months.
