WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO FILL THE REGIONAL COORDINATION POSITION

Project « Make Trade Work for Women in West-Africa »

(Post based in Abidjan in’Ivory Coast)

YOUR ROLE WILL BE

D’insure the leadership, coordination of programming, management and’administration of the « Make Trade Work for Women in West-Africa » project that will act in 6 countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Burkina Faso, ’Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Togo) in collaboration with members of the’I project team and TradeMark Africa (TMA), consortium partner. This project aims to support equitable access to cross-border trade opportunities by addressing the constraints related to gender inequalities that prevent women and marginalized groups from fully exploiting the potential of trade african continental free trade area (AFCZ).

YOU WILL BE CALLED TO

  • Ensure project management, development and monitoring in accordance with the’ Contribution Agreement signed between CECI and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) in order to achieve results efficiently ;
  • Follow-up of the project management manual (standards and procedures), as well as strict implementation of the project safety manual, ’ethical codes and institutional policies in accordance with the guidelines of CECI ;
  • Ensure the sound management of the material and financial resources of the project in accordance with the requirements of the lessor and CECI ;
  • In close collaboration with the project accountant and TMA, ensure the financial monitoring of the project and budget, respecting the standards and procedures according to the’ contribution agreement ;
  • Manage the human resources responsible for the execution of the project in Cote d’’Ivoire, Benin and Burkina Faso, including volunteers and national consultants (recruitment, selection, etc, monitoring and evaluation of staff) ;
  • Plan and coordinate the preparation of one-off trips of’ technical support according to needs ;
  • Strategically and operationally orient the project teams on the main themes of the project such as cross-border trade, gender equality issues, etc, L’inclusiveness of regional value chains and the improvement of policies on trade and’ inclusion of women and marginalized groups ;
  • Develop the Terms of Reference (RDTs) for conducting the various studies or consultations; and negotiate and sign the contractual agreements of the national consultants and subcontractors selected for specific services, and, in compliance with CECI standards and procedures ;
  • In close collaboration with the country directorates based in Benin, Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire, represent the project with the various partners, in strategic and governance spaces ;
  • To develop and maintain excellent relations with the implementing, technical and financial partners ;
  • Plan and organize, in collaboration with TMA, the half-yearly evaluation and the annual evaluation of the project and ensure the quality of the processes and documents for monitoring-evaluation-learning ;
  • In collaboration with TMA, plan, coordinate the various stages and participate in the various management and governance committees ;
  • In collaboration with the’ technical team of CECI and TMA produce all planning documents and project reports in accordance with established standards ;
  • Periodically review the Performance Measurement Framework (degree of’ achievement of results) and the PROPER implementation of strategies and propose adjustments as required ;
  • Ensure the’integration and monitoring of the transversal strategies of the project ; EFH, inclusive governance, risk reduction and disasters and environmental ;

PROFILE SOUGHT

  • Ivorian nationality or’a country of’Africa of the’West.
  • Undergraduate university education in economics, business management, economic development, entrepreneurship, political science or other related field.
  • Experience of seven (7) years, including five (5) years on interventions in West’ Africa, in design, management and monitoring evaluation, evaluation, capacity building of local partners and development of’participatory approaches and’ accompaniment, especially in economic development.
  • Proven experience in multi-partner regional project management.
  • Experience working on women’s leadership themes.
  • Refined knowledge of cross-border trade issues related to value chains for women and marginalized groups in the specific context of the AfCFTA.
  • Skills for team work in the context of multi disciplinary and multicultural’teams.
  • Excellent ability to manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to lead meetings and coach organizations /national partners.
  • Proven skills in high level representation, diplomacy, political acumen and conflict management.
  • Excellent demonstrated communication and writing skills.
  • Mastery of French and’anglais, spoken and written.
  • Available for regional and international travel.
