WHAT WE DO …

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to the vital needs of, drinking, eating, s’abriter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in those, essential, food security and means of’, and’habitat. Present in more than twenty countries, IS teams composed of expatriate staff, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers… intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Within the Program Assistant Operational Directorate (DOAP) and in close collaboration with the Logistics and’Information Systems Directorate (LOGSI), the, the Environment and Climate Referent ensures the implementation of the objectives and commitments of the’organisation in order to adapt its action to environmental and climate issues. It is therefore a question of’ ensuring the taking into account of the risks related to the environmental crisis (loss of biodiversity, transformation, etc, pollution and destruction of ecosystems) and climate (global increase in average temperatures at the global level) systematically and throughout our operations.

He/she (not exhaustive) :

Lead the development of scoping documents and’tools related to the’integration of environmental and climate issues in projects in a global approach to sustainable development of the’humanitarian action ;
Performs an active watch on the themes related to the’environment and the climate, and, which contributes to the definition of the positioning of IS and to the capacity building of the program and logistics teams on related topics ;
Pilot the’identification or the’ elaboration of trainings for the’attention of the SI teams and its partners, and animates these trainings ;
Participates in the organisation of internal and external technical events : weeks of technical coordinators and programmes, conferences, webinars, regional technical weeks, etc. ;
In connection with the headquarters and field teams, and accompanied by one or more external consultants :

Ensures the deployment at headquarters and in the field of the’ greenhouse gas accounting tool and the training of the trades concerned
Compile, analyse and formalise the results to propose a roadmap for reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Responds to requests for technical and/or methodological support from headquarters and field teams (support for the dimensioning of’an activity, sharing of good practices, preparation and monitoring of’a project evaluation, etc.) while facilitating the acquisition of knowledge and the provision of appropriate documentation ;
Contributes to the support of operational teams in the transversal integration of Environment and Climate issues throughout the project cycle and in their dimensions EAH/SAME/Shelters in line with strategic directions and operational priorities ;
Ensures the capitalization of IS programs that have had a positive environmental impact, and their sharing internally and externally with IS partners.
Contributes to the identification and development of partnerships with professionals, NGOs, companies, suppliers, or research centers, etc, to strengthen and expand the field of technical skills of SI and contribute to the’ research-innovation approach of SI ;
Represents SI on environmental topics to different bodies, working groups, networks (type Humanitarian Environment Network – REH), etc, institutions and at conferences with a view to valorizing the’expertise of the’organization and relay of advocacy messages ;
Monitoring funding opportunities on climate and environment related to the Accountability and Development of Partnerships Department (humanitarian sector /outside humanitarian sector) ;
Coordinates the drafting of proposals for environment and climate projects driven by headquarters

YOUR PROFILE

Higher education Bac+5 type IEP, Engineering school or Master environment /sustainable development
A technical specialization (carbon balance, environmental impact study, EAH, SAME, Shelter or Logistics) would be an asset
Field experience in NGOs of 2 years minimum
Leadership ability
Ability of’analysis and’organization, priority management
Essential mastery of’informatique (Pack Office)
Current mastery of French and’anglais (read, written and spoken). Mastery of’spanish is an asset.

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

Position based at the headquarters of Solidarity International, in Clichy la Garenne (Mairie de Clichy Metro)
CDI-Frame-Status contract
Monthly gross remuneration of : 3 183 € or 3 316 € depending on the grid in force at headquarters
Possibility of teleworking: 4 or 12 days of Teleworking per month or 100% of teleworking with 3 days of mandatory face-to-face per month. In accordance with the Telework Charter in force and the manager.
Leave : 2.0833 CP /month and 1 day RTT / full month of work
