Project Volunteer – PMU At Plan International

Plan International is an independent child rights and humanitarian organisation committed to children living a life free of poverty, violence and injustice. Plan support children to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to claim their rights to a fulfilling life, today and in the future. Plan place a specific focus on girls and women, who are most often left behind. Plan have been building powerful partnerships for children for more than 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries. Plan International Jordan is established in 2016 and has programmes in Azraq refugee camp and host communities.

ROLE PURPOSE

Background

Youth Empowerment Program (Najahna)

Najahna is a 5-year program (2022 – 2026) funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) with a mission to promote youth economic empowerment in Jordan. The program’s primary goal is to empower 88,700 Syrian refugees and conflict-affected youth in Jordan, aged 15 to 25, to become economically and socially viable actors in an inclusive, healthy, protective, and gender-responsive environment. The program is implemented by five consortium partners, Plan International (PI), The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), The Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS), Includovate, and The Danish Industry (DI), and is led by Plan International.

Dimensions of the Role

SCOPE OF WORK

The volunteer will:

  1. Organize and archive the Consortium shared folders and files.
  2. Attend and complete minutes of some PMU-Lead meetings.
  3. Draft and process PMU PRs, POs, and any other operational paperwork.
  4. Transcribe notes from PMU-led workshops.
  5. Support with data quality checks under Data Management Officer’s direct supervision.
  6. Support with logistical and troubleshooting needs in PMU events/workshops.
  7. Support with MERL quality assurance field visits.
  8. Support with drafting content and documentation for comms as needed.
  9. Support in events and meetings planning/conducting.

Child protection, gender equality and inclusion

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children, Young People and Programmes Participants and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan

Key relationships

  1. The role holder will report to and work under the supervision of the PMU’s Technical Specialist.
  2. The role holder will support the entire PMU team.
  3. The role holder will have contact with Najahna partners in events such as workshops etc.
  4. The role holder will have limited contact with Najahna participants as necessary in field visits.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  1. Excellent communication skills.
  2. Experience in Excel and MS Word.
  3. Fresh graduate or one year experience in the humanitarian sector.
  4. Very good language skills in English (written and spoken).

Physical Environment

  • The role holder will work in a typical office environment the majority of the time
