Job Description
Background

Brazil received funds from the Green Climate Fund ( GCF ) for the project “ Payments based on REDD results + for results achieved by Brazil in the Amazon biome in 2014 and 2015 ”. Payments based on results received by Brazil from the GCF will contribute to the implementation of actions in the forestry sector of the NDC of Brazil and the general objective of the National Strategy of REDD + of Brazil. The project has two main results: a ) Develop pilot of the Environmental Services Incentive Program for Conservation and Recovery of Native Vegetation; and b ) Strengthen the implementation of ENREDD + in Brazil, through improvements in its governance structure and systems.
The Pilot Program aims to provide incentives for environmental services in the Legal Amazon region. This pilot program has the following specific objectives: 1. provide monetary compensation to encourage the conservation of native vegetation and restoration / recovery and improvement of ecosystems that generate environmental services ( including, but not limited to, carbon ); 2. prevent deforestation, forest degradation and forest fires through financial incentives; 3. encourage the restoration / recovery of native vegetation on rural properties, conservation areas, indigenous lands, settlements and local community lands; 4. value the actions of landowners, land users, settlers, indigenous peoples and local communities in the conservation and restoration / recovery of native vegetation; 5.Promote compliance with environmental legislation, especially that related to the protection and restoration / recovery of native vegetation ( Forest Code ); 6. offer a financial mechanism to foster the development and implementation of public policies aimed at the conservation and restoration / recovery of native vegetation.
The BRA / 19/005 project also aims to contribute to the implementation of ENREDD + by improving the forest monitoring system for the entire Brazilian territory, systematization of safeguards information and assessment of the impacts of REDD policies +.
Duties and responsibilities
A ( o ) hired professional ( o ) will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the Project on topics directly or indirectly related to the National REDD Strategy + ( ENREDD + ). In particular, you will engage in the following activities, but not limited to them: Main Responsibilities: Project Management: a) Aprovar tecnicamente os produtos dos parceiros de implementação (Responsáveis), garantindo a qualidade e o cumprimento dos prazos do projeto; b) Propor ações integradas entre os órgãos participantes, inclusive as instituições governamentais, e com as demais instituições elencadas no documento do projeto do setor público e privado; c) Assegurar a compatibilidade entre os vários elementos e atividades disponibilizadas e/ou financiadas por outras entidades parceiras e a concretização dos projetos; d) Auxiliar na preparação de relatórios anuais de progresso; e) Cumprir outras obrigações que contribuam para o bom funcionamento do projeto; f) Manter contato com instituições parceiras e partes interessadas, inclusive participando de reuniões, seminários, workshops e outros eventos, conforme solicitado pela Coordenação do Projeto e pelo Comitê Diretor do Projeto e preparar briefings com pontos-chave, questões relevantes e questões relacionadas à implementação do projeto para apoiar decisões. g) Propor soluções e demonstrar habilidades de resolução e mediação de conflitos; h) Fornecer suporte para a elaboração de documentos técnicos; i) Supervisionar e acompanhar equipes de consultoria especializadas;
Work Plan Management:
j ) Analyze and review indicators and goals of the project document; k ) Support planning, organizing, implement and monitor meetings and workshops with stakeholders and make systematic records of key points and relevant issues to support the decision-making process; l ) Provide technical support for the elaboration of Terms of Reference;
Monitoring:
m ) Technically approve the products of specialized consultants, ensuring the quality and compliance with project deadlines; n ) Implement tools to assess the level of progress of approved indicators and targets; o ) Support the systematic monitoring of environmental and social safeguards; p ) Support interinstitutional negotiations in the implementation of the project, coordinating and monitoring its activities; q ) Carry out technical visits to Layered Process Audits ( LPAs );
Institutional Arrangement
The ( o ) Technical Analyst ( o ) of Project will be directly supervised ( o ) by the Coordination of Project BRA / 19/005.

Minimum education requirements:
- Master in Sustainable Development, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Rural Development, Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture, Agriculture, Forest Engineering, Biodiversity Management or related areas.
- Bachelor of Sustainable Development, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Rural Development, Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture, Agriculture, Forest Engineering, Biodiversity Management or related areas in combination with an additional 2 years of qualified experience will be given due consideration instead of a master’s degree.
Minimum years of relevant professional experience:
- Minimum 2 years ( for Master ) or 4 years ( for Bachelor ) with proven experience involving technical support for the implementation of projects in the environmental area, working with ecosystem services, mechanisms to encourage recovery/restoration of native vegetation or climate change projects.
