WORK OBJECTIVE

The project manager will be in charge of ensuring the satisfactory execution of the project Multisectoral and integrated response in water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods and protection of women from indigenous communities in the state of Amazonas, Venezuela financed by the French Government (CDCS), in Puerto Ayacucho.

The project has as intervention sectors: Livelihoods, Protection and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (ASH). The selected person will provide strategic and operational leadership to successfully develop and implement the project. The project manager will ensure compliance with the general technical and programmatic quality in the implementation, compliance with regulations, donor regulations and the timely presentation of all deliverables. Depending on the needs, the manager may also participate in the design of future projects. The manager will respond to the Base Manager and the Area Coordinator.

FUNCTIONS
 Planning of project activities (elaboration of implementation strategies, work plan, identification and planning of technical skills and project implementation requirements according to relevant standards)
 Monitoring implementation (daily monitoring of project activities, anticipation and mitigation of risks, problem solving and planning of corrective measures).
 Documentation and compliance (preparation, compilation and archiving of records and documents proving the completion of activities), creation and updating of instruments and mechanisms to ensure that activities are carried out in compliance with donor regulations.
 Commitment and responsibility with the beneficiaries (safeguard of the beneficiaries, communication with the communities, participation of the communities, resolution of complaints)
 Internal coordination (organization and participation in meetings)
 External coordination (organization and participation in bilateral meetings and platforms and
multilateral, such as sectoral meetings)
 Security management (through periodic context analysis and access negotiation, support security management and project-related movements).

Human Resources
 Planning (Structuring and organization of the team, including assignment of functions and
responsibilities)
 Recruitment (in coordination with the Human Resources Department)
 Staff development and capacity-building (proactive and ongoing assessment of training needs and interest of team members, identification of training opportunities, including internal and external, orientation)
 Personnel management (establishment of work plans, vacation planning, periodic evaluations, conflict resolution)

Logistics
 Acquisitions (in coordination with the Logistics Department)
 Quality control (verification of samples and items purchased)
 Stocks (monitoring of project stock volumes)
 Transportation (participation in vehicle management)
 Assets (control the availability and use of assets)

Finance
 Budget monitoring / spending control (periodic forecasting of expenses and verification
transverse)
 Support in the preparation of cash requests

Quality control
 Monitoring and evaluation (support for the execution of monitoring activities carried out by the
Diagnostic, Monitoring and Evaluation Department; participation in monitoring activities; measurement of relevant project indicators)
 Learning (feed the database of lessons learned, apply lessons learned in the past to future projects)

Grant management and fundraising

 In coordination with the Project Development Department, ensure respect for
contractual obligations, donor procedures and donor requests
 Actively participate in the launch, review and closure meeting of projects
 Reporting: prepare periodic narrative reports and update reporting tools, and share them with the Project Development Department
 Support the design of new proposals, including strategic program options, appropriate activities, appropriate locations, selected beneficiaries, staffing needs, and costs.

Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse
 Create and maintain an environment that prevents sexual exploitation and abuse and promotes
application of the zero tolerance policy and the ACTED code of conduct.

REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
 Bachelor of Social Sciences (Sociology, Social Work), Economics, Education, Political Science, International Studies, Health Sciences, Humanitarian Protection, Civil Engineering, related careers.
 At least three (3) years of experience as a project manager. Preferably in an NGO
international.
 Experience in dealing with national partners and local / government authorities
 Experience in proven organizational skills.
 Experience working in multicultural work environments
 Microsoft Office Package Domain
 Soft skills: dynamism, leadership, Team management, autonomy, high attention to detail, responsibility, assertive communication, results orientation, transparency, flexibility.

Desirable (not mandatory):
 Experience in education and training.

CONDITIONS
 Contract for the provision of services for 9 months with the possibility of renewal according to
budget availability and performance.
 Workplace: Face-to-face at the ACTED office in Puerto Ayacucho.
 Professional Fees according to the Scale of the organization.
