Project Manager At Association of Volunteers for International Service

Aim of the position: The project manager is the main person responsible for the project management, coordinating and supervising all the implementation phases ensuring compliance with the donor’s procedures and AVSI’s approach. He is responsible for defining the timetable, financial monitoring, supervising the project team, and coordinating the consortium internally.
Final objective: strengthening training and employment in favor of the socio-economic integration of young Tunisians in the responsible and sustainable tourism sector.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Intervention coordination: development and implementation of the work plan, monitoring of activities.
  • Planning, supervision and monitoring of project activities and staff.
  • Administrative management in line with what is established by the assignment specifications and the guidelines to which it refers (including the Administrative Clarifications and other instructions that you will receive from the Italian Cooperation Office) and in line with AVSI procedures.
  • Drafting of interim reports and the final report to be submitted to the Italian Cooperation Office as established by the assignment specifications.
  • Regular reports with the Italian Cooperation Office to monitor the progress of the project.
  • Coordination with local and international NGOs and other organizations working in the field of vocational training and tourism.
  • Participation in the evaluation and monitoring missions planned during the project.
  • Verification of correctness in administrative reporting of project expenses.
  • Participate in the development of project proposals, including writing literature reviews, context analysis, development of evaluation surveys, collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.

Essential Requirements:

Education: specialization degrees in Social Sciences, Education, Management, Development Cooperation or International Relations.

Work Experience: At least 2 years of work experience in the humanitarian sector.

Language Proficiency:
• good knowledge of written and spoken French, level C1;
• basic knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.

Required skills and experiences:

  • Mastery of the most common IT tools and software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams);
  • Ability to analyse and synthesise;
  • Good writing skills;
  • Skills in working in a multidisciplinary and intercultural team;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Dynamism, autonomy in carrying out activities;
  • Possibility to adopt a flexible schedule if necessary;
  • Ability to work and manage a team well
