The Project:
Alinea is looking for a national Finance and Administrative Officer based in Maputo to manage the Global Affairs Canada (GAC)-funded Field Support Services Project (FSSP). The primary objective of the FSSP is to provide access to local technical expertise and local logistical and administrative support in Mozambique and in countries accredited to Canada’s High Commission to Mozambique. This local technical expertise and support ensures that Canada can provide effective, efficient, high-quality, and relevant development assistance to meet development needs and priorities.
The Role
Based in Maputo Mozambique, the FSSP Coordinator tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Providing logistical services such as overseeing, coordinating, and arranging vehicle rental, travel, events, meetings, conferences, and missions as required;
- Contributing to the preparation of all key FSSP deliverables and documents;
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of FSSP records and files;
- Overseeing activities with stakeholders;
- Advising on local government documentation requirements; and
- Preparing progress reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Master of political science, law, international development, economics, finance, business administration, project management, social sciences, engineering, applied sciences, or similar;
- Additional training in project management, public administration, RBM, human resource management, conflict management, financial management, capacity building approaches, and/or gender equality is an asset,
- Minimum of five (5) years of project coordination or administrative experience on an international development project, with donors such as Global Affairs Canada, USAID, GIZ, etc.
- Demonstrated experience supporting administrative, financial, and procurement activities, including budgets, financial and narrative reports, and other communications items;
- Skilled at coordinating logistics such as meetings, events, transportation of goods, booking hotels, flights/transportation, and applications for visa or other documents;
- Supported drafting administrative and financial reports and maintaining filing systems and databases;
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
