About this position

We are looking for a well-rounded, enthusiastic, and dynamic consultant to work with the Water and Sanitation Team of the Infrastructure Department ( INE/WSA) to ensure universal and sustainable access to high quality water, sanitation, and solid waste management services to contribute to the sustainable economic growth of our member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and a better quality of life for their citizens.

T he objective of this consultancy is to support the development and implementation of the Technical Cooperation Program for the Policy Development for Integrated Solutions in the Solid Waste and Water Sectors in LAC based on the South Korean case with the coordination and fulfilment of the consultancy’s products goals, preparation and running webinars and follow-up meetings, technically supervision of pre-feasibility pilot, and support with the preparation of site visits and publication of case studies .

What you’ll do

In accordance with the schedule, product goals and the guidelines given by the IDB, the consultant will carry out the following activities to achieve the objective of supporting the development and implementation of the TC Policy development for Integrated Solutions in the Solid Waste and Water Sectors in LAC based on the South Korean case.

  •  Coordinate the schedules, dates and equipment required for the publication of the products of the TC in the timeframe expected by the Bank.
  •  Propose, correct, and adjust products for publication according to the Bank`s guidelines. Being part of the elaborating team of the products and publications.
  •  Coordinate, complement, and support the publication processes of the products (editing, layout, branding, among others).
  •  Coordinate, plan and run webinars of knowledge exchange and dissemination events. As well, as preparing the documents and formats required before, during, and after the events.
  •  Maintain and update communication channels with the relevant national authorities in the beneficiary countries. Coordinating the required stages and information required by them to continue with the TCs next steps.
  •  Prepare presentations, agenda, blogs, and reports, including follow-ups.
  •  Accompany and present the results in spaces determined by the Bank. Support in the elaboration of terms of reference required.
  •  Support the preparation and execution of the site visit to South Korea for the strengthening of pilots in hand with the firm in charge of this task.
  •  Prepare and technically supervise the pre-feasibility pilot’s consultancy with the firm in charge of the task.

What you’ll need

  •  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil , Environmental, Industrial, Sanitary, and other related engineering, Economics, Management and/or similar. studies in solid waste management, water and sanitation, data analysis, research methodologies, public policy or similar is a plus.
  •  Experience: Minimum 4 years of general experience in the field. Experience and proven capacity in water and solid waste management, stakeholder articulation, research methodologies, project management, public policy and governance, facilitation of multi-sectoral dialogue processes, conflict resolution and governance in complex issues such as environment and/or natural resources. Experience with projects in technology or innovation, with experience with technology in South Korea a plus
  •  Languages: English and Spanish. South Korean is a plus.

  •  Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
  •  Consanguinity : You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
