Organizational Development and Sustainability Consultant
Background
Masarouna mobilizes the power of young people in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) so they can claim their Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). We are a youth-centred partnership and forge new pathways through lobbying, advocating, and strengthening civil society. To enhance the capacities of four our partner organizations to ensure their sustainability and effectiveness, therefore, Oxfam MENA Regional Platform is seeking an experienced organizational development and sustainability consultant to conduct a two-day training session aimed at empowering our partner organizations in the region in Istanbul between May 13-14, 2024.
Objectives
The primary objective of this consultancy is to provide comprehensive training and post-training follow up to our partner organizations, focusing on innovative solutions for organizational sustainability, strategic planning, and development.
Scope of work
- Pre-training consultations
- Conduct preliminary assessments with each partner organization to identify their specific needs and challenges.
- Prepare all necessary materials and resources for the training sessions.
- Develop a tailored training agenda that addresses the identified needs and promotes innovative approaches to organizational development and sustainability for all partners.
- Training delivery
- Conduct a two-day interactive workshop in Istanbul on May 13-14, 2024.
- Cover key topics, including but not limited to, strategic planning, financial sustainability, stakeholder engagement …etc – to be determined based on partners’ needs.
- Facilitate group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises to enhance participant learning and application of concepts.
- Post-training support
- Provide a summary report of the training outcomes and participant feedback.
- Share resources and best practices for organizational sustainability to all participating organizations.
- Schedule and conduct one follow-up session with each partner organization three months after the training to review progress, address challenges, and provide further guidance on implementing strategies discussed during the training
Timeline: This assignment is expected to commence on April 15, 2024, and end on August 15, 2024.
Deliverables:
- A detailed training agenda and materials prepared and shared with Oxfam for review at least two weeks before the training date.
- Two-day interactive training workshop conducted in Istanbul.
- A comprehensive training report, including an overview of the sessions, participant feedback, and recommendations for future actions.
- Total of four follow-up sessions (one session per partner) with partner organizations three months after the training to review progress, address challenges, and provide further guidance on implementing strategies discussed during the training.
Consultant qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in organizational development, capacity building, or a related field.
- Proven track record of conducting effective trainings and workshops for civil society and feminist organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of CSO sustainability and development practices and innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in gender and SRHR issues with a proven ability to integrate these themes into organizational development strategies.
- Familiarity with the MENA context including an understanding of the cultural, social, and legal challenges and opportunities for CSOs operating in the region.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English required.

Financial offer

- The Evaluation Committee appointed by Oxfam, jointly and separately, shall evaluate the proposals taking into consideration whether those comply with the ToR and applying both the evaluation criteria and the scoring grid indicated. Each proposal shall be given a technical score.
- After evaluation of technical expertise, only those who have obtained a minimum score of forty (40) points shall proceed to the next stage (i.e. financial evaluation) and only then the price of the proposals is taken into consideration. Technical Proposals obtaining thirty-nine (39) points or less shall be disqualified and not considered for further evaluation.

- A proposed methodology and outline for the training, including intended outcomes and activities.
- Financial proposal detailing consultancy fees, travel, accommodation, and any other expected costs.
