Position Description

Reporting Line

The Nutrition and Communication Assistant reports to the Local Education Officer.

Main location

The position is based in the RET Local Office, located in Coro, Falcón state.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Receive the training, guidelines and materials necessary to implement communication, community engagement and nutrition activities from the Communication and Nutrition Specialist.
  • Disseminate and ensure that school staff, beneficiaries and families are aware of the community feedback mechanism.
  • Share key messages for the start of the school year with school staff and families during the first distributions, including communication messages and rations for the 24-25 school year.
  • Plan, convene and conduct socializations with families and school staff to inform about the program and other topics of interest at specific times during the school year (these times will be planned with PMA)
  • Conducts follow-up visits to schools every 15 days according to PMA guidelines together with the school leader, to carry out socializations and/or discussions on topics related to the program and transversal topics, socializations about Super Cereal Plus, frequent meetings with kitchen staff, among other communication and nutrition activities.

  • Attend any meeting that is required of you.
  • Complete any additional tasks within the scope of their duties as requested by the Local Education Officer.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with relevant institutions and organisations, and with internal and external stakeholders, as a RET representative. These skills include effective negotiation and representation.
  • Propose, in a constructive manner, alternative solutions to problems that arise in the work area.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and/or related fields.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in similar positions.
  • Venezuelan nationality or have permission to work in Venezuela (essential).
  • Immediate availability required.
  • Flexibility to manage different tasks effectively and willingness to put in extra hours when necessary.
  • Availability to travel throughout the national territory, as necessary.
  • Computer management in an office environment
