Organizational framework

The ( la ) nurse ( a ) from Medical Services will work at the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean ( RLC ), in Santiago de Chile, in full days from Monday to Friday.

Hierarchical dependency

The ( the ) nurse ( a ) will work under the general supervision of the ( the ) RLC Management Officer and the direct supervision of the FAO Medical Adviser, together with various relevant actors in the Organization.

Tasks and responsibilities

The ( the ) nurse ( a ) will be in charge of collaborating in the promotion of health activities and carrying out health and preventive monitoring actions, focusing on the following main tasks:

  •  As part of the Medical Service, make the corresponding adjustments in Health activities according to contingencies due to the COVID-19 pandemic or any other unforeseen event, as well as executing actions that tend to a healthy lifestyle, always promoting a good work environment in the Regional Office.
  •  Follow up on internal COVID-19 cases, according to the protocols established in RLC, including providing guidance and implementing prevention measures within FAO facilities.
  •  Clinical assistance in case of emergencies, emergencies or work accidents that may occur within FAO units and their due channeling to FAO physician or specialized health services.
  •  Together with the Security team, it will collaborate in the implementation of preventive campaigns and training related to the contagion of COVID-19 within the Office, both the preparation of reports on the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in Chile and the collaboration in corporate actions and responses to COVID-19 and guidelines of the FAO Medical Service
  •  Participate in working groups and in the preparation of proposals, both support in the execution of the various scheduled activities in the year, including the organization of group and individual health prevention and awareness activities at the local level, the Health Education Program, the Welfare Program, among others.
  •  Collaboration in the tasks of preventive medical programs and in meeting morbidity criteria of FAO employees.
  •  Support in various campaigns, such as individual health and a healthy environment, training Brigadiers on first aid issues, and lung resuscitation, United Nations vaccination, among others
  •  Participate with the Medical Advisor in the development of strategies, monitoring and accompaniment of officials with medical licenses, safeguarding at all times due confidentiality.
  •  Collaborate in the analysis, monitoring and accompaniment of health insurance beneficiaries.

THE CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUED IN ARRANGE TO THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Minimum requirements

  •  Nursing Professional Title
  •  Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in clinical work and management. Significant experience in clinical management.
  •  Knowledge in preparation of documents or reports.
  •  Native / advanced knowledge of Spanish ( C level ) and practical knowledge of English ( B level )
  •  National of Chile or with work permit in the country
