STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Higher university degree in economics, food security, statistics, data science, public health/nutrition, geography or other related field, or first university degree with additional years of professional experience and/or related training/courses.
Experience: At least 3 years experience with a Master or 5 years experience with a Licence/Bachelor
Language : International Professional : Mastery (level C) of the French language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official language of the United Nations: arabic, chinese, english, russian, spanish and/or portuguese (a working language of the WFP).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (not exhaustive, within the limits of delegated authorities)
- Contribute to the development of human resources management projects and activities, plans and processes, ensuring that they are aligned with broader WFP policies and directions.
- Support the development of systems and tools for monitoring and assessing food assistance needs in accordance with innovative methodologies and best practices.
- Support the development of food safety and vulnerability analyzes and the timely reporting on food assessment needs, in accordance with policies, broader food management processes and directions to enable effective decision-making on the development of national strategies, policies and programs.
- Provide assistance in coordinating data collection and monitoring systems, ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
- Liaise with internal and external ( implementation partners ) in order to monitor current projects, ensure effective collaboration, speed and efficiency and to highlight the potential risks for the execution of projects.
- Support capacity building of WFP staff, partners and the national government so that they can carry out vulnerability analyzes in order to effectively inform preparation and response activities.
- Provide support to relevant partners who focus on food security and nutrition issues to enable the sharing of experiences, lessons learned and good practices.
- Guide and supervise less experienced staff, acting as a point of reference and supporting them in their analyzes and questions.
- Act within the framework of an emergency response capacity assigned to it, if necessary, to meet the needs of emergency food aid.
