SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs: drinking, eating, shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI teams – 3,200 people in total made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

The mission

Since March 2020, SI has been working in France to address the challenges of water, hygiene and sanitation insecurity in five territories. In partnership with the Water and Sanitation operators of metropolitan areas and their Foundations, its projects target people living in degraded sites such as shanty towns or squats and who have limited access to basic services, in terms of drinking water, sanitation, and access to essential hygiene products.

SI’s strategy consists of supporting local stakeholders in their search for concrete solutions, by proposing to improve the sanitary conditions of sites, in particular through the installation of drinking water supplies, sanitation infrastructure and through the development of pilot projects adapted to the context of each intervention zone.

General objective

Under the supervision of the field coordinator, the Logistics and Finance Manager ensures administrative, accounting, financial and logistical management in compliance with donor and Solidarités International procedures.

He/she organizes the logistical and administrative support for the programs, is the guarantor of the financial and logistical procedures of Solidarités International. He/she is responsible for supervising all the logistical activities of the mission.

He/she assists the field coordinator, the community mobilizer and the WASH program manager in the implementation of distribution activities in the field and in the application of safety rules. The Logistics Manager is based in Paris.

Main Challenges:

Potential field support on the distribution and implementation of program facilities.

Priorities for the first 2/3 months:

1. Monitoring of the base’s logistical and financial tools
2. Providing support to program teams for purchases
3. Identification and analysis of service providers linked to PR (translation, plumber, electrician, garage, etc.)

A salaried position: Depending on experience, from EUR 2865 gross per month.

Training:

Training in financial or humanitarian management, logistics or accounting

Experience and technical skills:

Previous experience in the humanitarian sector would be an asset.

Cross-disciplinary skills:

1. Knowledge of the specificities of the French purchasing context
2. Accounting management
3. Knowledge of IS logistics procedures, knowledge of LINK software would be a plus

Technical skills:

1. Relational sense (link partners, teams, beneficiaries, etc.)
2. Autonomy & prioritization
3. Knowing how to juggle between different areas of expertise
