PUI works in 10 sectors of’intervention and is distinguished by the implementation of’an integrated approach in its response. This method aims to identify and understand the’ set of needs of people affected by a crisis. Our teams are mobilizing to provide a global response to the’ set of basic needs of populations victims of humanitarian crises in the’ emergency to allow them to regain autonomy and dignity.

Focus on our activities in CAR

Present since 2007 in CAR, PUI develops its integrated approach with programs in Health, Nutrition, Food Security and Water-Hygiene-Sanitation especially in the north of the country, in the prefecture of Bamingui Bangoran (Ndele). PUI supports in particular primary health centres and posts, in support of certain hospitals, while intervening in more remote areas via the deployment of mobile clinics, including, complemented by a community-based approach and a strengthening of the management of Severe Acute Malnutrition. PUI is also strongly involved in the rehabilitation of agro-pastoral production tools in the Ndele area and in strengthening the’ offer of services in Water, Hygiene and Sanitation. Logistically, in,PUI has developed a shared storage platform in Bangui for humanitarian partners. Today, the mission consists of 5 projects supported by the CDCS, BHA, AFD, UNICEF and AIDS.

And the.the Chef· of Mission in all this?

As Head of Mission, you will be responsible for the proper functioning and development of the mission.

For this purpose, your responsibilities will be as follows :

  • Security : You will be responsible for security on the mission
  • Programs : You will coordinate the teams and ensure the proper implementation of the programs on the mission, you will follow the needs and propose new interventions and avenues of development for the mission.
  • Human Resources : You will ensure the proper human dimensioning of the mission and supervise the teams (definition of’objectives, monitoring).
  • Logistical, administrative and financial monitoring : You will ensure that the logistical and administrative practices in place respect the PUI procedures and formats and are in line with the regulations.
  • Medical and technical monitoring: You will ensure that medical and technical practices comply with PUI procedures and formats and are in line with the PUI intervention policy.
  • Representation: You will represent the association with partners, donors, media and the various authorities.
  • Relations with Headquarters: You will ensure the proper flow of information between headquarters and the field and you will ensure that deadlines are met.

What you need to succeed

  • Training

You can justify a higher degree’ (min. Master 2 or equivalent) in a field related to humanitarian action: project management, technical training related to one of our areas of intervention, human resources management, financial management, etc.

  • Experience

You have at least three years of’ field experience in international NGO, in the coordination of projects. Experience in the management of an expatriate’ team, in project management, and in safety management is essential. Have you ever held the position of Head.fe of Mission or equivalent in an international NGO? This will be highly appreciated. Have you worked with First International Emergency? It will be an undeniable asset!

  • Skills

You have mastered humanitarian project management and team management, you have in-depth knowledge of the main donors. You have excellent writing skills.

  • Qualities required

You show a good relationship, ease of communication, both in writing and orally, and you have a taste for teamwork. You demonstrate leadership and decision-making ability, reliability and sense of responsibility, rigor and organization, responsiveness and adaptability. You have excellent resistance to stress and an ability to work under pressure.

  • Languages

L’anglais has no secrets for you ? So much the better, it’is essential for this post !

PUI will propose

  • Status: Framework in Contract with Determined Duration
  • Gross monthly salary: 3 330,00 – 3 930,00 EUR according to your experience in international solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI
  • Assurance including medical and complementary health coverage, 24/24 assistance, repatriation and pension
  • Hosting in collective house
  • Living expenses (“Per Diem”)
  • Break regime: 5 Working days to 3 and 9 months mission + break premium
  • Paid Leave Plan: 5 Weeks from CP/year + A/R air ticket at home every 6 months
