Mali Acted

Since 2012, Acted has been mobilized in Mali in response to the complex crisis and structural and economic challenges facing the country, with interventions that combine emergency operations and development programs. The’Acted teams (today’Hui 11 international employees and 160 national employees) supported more than ’1 million people in 6 regions of Mali: Segou, Mopti, Gao, Menaka, Timbuktu and Bamako.

Main role and responsibilities

The/the Project Manager, under the operational guidance of the Area Coordinator and the technical guidance of the Technical Coordinator of the programmes is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the’Acted project. The/the Project Manager supervises field operations and ensures the effective and timely completion of activities ; he/it also ensures quality refunds and the achievement of results with maximum’impact for the beneficiaries. The/the Project Manager supervises the project staff, in the day-to-day management of all aspects of the project and liaises with the relevant internal departments, including, external partners and project stakeholders.

Qualifications and skills required

  • Experience in relation to the type of project required, in a context of’urgency and/or development
  • Experience working with institutional backers is a plus
  • Experience in budget management
  • Ability to coordinate and manage a team
  • Ability to work independently and creatively in the field and in the capital
  • Excellent oral and written expression
  • Strong ability to work in an intercultural context

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the Acted salary grid according to the level of’studies,’expertise, the level of safety and the level of experience : between 2950 and 3150€ monthly net (before income taxes)
  • Monthly living expenses allowance 300$
  • Guesthouse accommodation and food supported by Acted
  • Social security, mutual insurance (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) supported by Acted
  • Transport to the mission and return ticket fully supported every 6 months (to the’address specified on the employment contract)
  • Visa fees supported by Acted
  • R&R every 3 months (aircraft ticket’ supported up to’ 500$ + additional allowance of 200$)
  • One week of preparation for departure including 4 days of immersion safety training
  • Possibility of’having a call of 30 minutes with a consultant in taxation
  • Psychological support ( date with a professional.the )
