Doctors of the World began its work with vulnerable populations in Cote d’Ivoire in 1986. The’organization has conducted several programs to strengthen the health system in the North and the West’ of the country in the years 2000-2010. It also supported local partners on a project to support street children in Abidjan.
From 2014 to 2023, the association led a project for Risk Reduction for Drug Users (PUD) in the city of’Abidjan and in the cities of San Pedro, France, from Yamoussoukro and Bouake. Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and, MdM is implementing two pilot projects for the prevention and management of precancerous lesions of cervical cancer’ uterus (CCU) in Abidjan and San Pedro, where MdM also operates a project to prevent and manage unintentional pregnancies (GNI) among adolescents and young people. In July 2023, MdM opened a primary health care program in the north-east of the country, on the border with Burkina Faso, to develop an integrated response to humanitarian and development needs in the area.

Under the supervision of the general coordinator, you will have the task of coordinating and supervising the various logistical aspects of the mission, to lead the logistics team and to be in support of the general coordinator on the follow-up of security procedures at mission level.
Steering of logistics coordination at mission level
- Conduct assessments on the logistical aspects of the mission as well as on the new’ intervention sites
- Work in conjunction with the’ coordination team to define the objectives of the logistics department and ensure the planning of the activities of the’ logistics team
- Support the’ coordination team on logistics topics as part of the drafting of project proposals
- Ensure in coordination with the administrative coordinator, the follow-up of the standard logistic procedures of MdM and supervise their application in accordance with the laws of the country and the regulations of the donors
- Ensure the proper use and monitoring of tools and logistical means for capitalization at the mission level
- Ensure communication on logistical aspects with the logistics reference based at headquarters
- Represent MdM to external actors in charge of logistics and participate in external meetings at the request of the general coordinator
- Write the various reports requested: monthly logistics report, donor reports, etc.
- Participate in Logistic Cluster meetings and any other pooling meeting
Supervision and animation of teams
- Participate in the recruitment of members of the’logistics team
- Participate in the drafting/revision of job profiles of logistics staff according to changes in the program and mission
- Participate in the development of the’ individual action plans of the’logistic team, carry out periodic monitoring points and implement corrective actions if necessary
- Train and strengthen the technical capabilities of the’logistics team
- Carry out the’assessment of the staff under his supervision (managerial and functional) and identify training needs : prepare training plans, ensure the capacity building of the’ logistics team, etc, and supervise the training actions of the teams based on the identified needs
- Organize and animate the weekly meetings of the’logistics team
- Performing one-off trips on the bases to ensure quality support and technical follow-up
Supply chain and daily logistics management
- Planning mission and delivery purchases
- Apply and ensure compliance with’achat MdM procedures
- Participate in the’ accompaniment and training of all MdM staffs to the understanding and the’ application of the purchase procedure and its tools
- Control the constitution and’archiving of complete’achat files on SharePoint and in paper format
- Work at’ obtaining import authorizations including medicines
- Anticipate, organize and track customs clearance of international orders
- Anticipate, organize and monitor the routes from the capital to the bases
- Participate in the development and updating of lists of suppliers, lists of prices, etc.
- Support the basics in the management of premises, offices, homes and pharmacies
- Analyze and proceed on the eve of the markets
Logistical support to programmes
- Supervise the activities of’achats and’logistic/medical supply of structures supported by MdM
- Conduct assessments of the logistical aspects of the mission on the basis of needs
- Ensure the reporting of logistics activities in relation to the issues of field logistics
- Technically support the programme logistics teams on the necessary rehabilitations in the supported health structures
Stock management, warehousing and equipment management
- Oversee monthly inventories of logistics stock
- Ensure the updating of park and equipment states
- Apply and ensure compliance with MdM inventory management procedures
- Monitor the regular maintenance and proper use of the various equipment: computer equipment, satellite, energy etc.
- Accompany and strengthen the capacities of the storekeeper.iere
- Coordinate’ maintenance, monitoring, repair of vehicles and generators
- Manage and organize field trips in connection with other departments
- Apply and ensure compliance with the management procedures of the MdM fleet
- Send monthly fuel consumption tracking to headquarters
- Manage’achat, rental of additional vehicles and generators if necessary
Management of security
- Apply and enforce the security plan according to the risks identified, under the responsibility of/the general coordinator
- Ensure compliance with the association’s code of conduct, ethics and humanitarian principles through its practices and/or teams
- Ensure training and regular information of national staff involved in operational safety management (drivers, guards)
- To develop, update, implement and enforce specific security measures of the mission
Profile sought
- Be holder of’un bac +2 in Purchase and/or Logistics
- Essential and solid experience in the management and logistical coordination of humanitarian projects
- Experience in’ team coordination and remote coordination
- Experience in security management and basic opening
- Good knowledge of’ purchasing procedures of humanitarian donors
- Mastery of procedures and logistics’organisation
- ’organisation and management capabilities of’team
- Very good knowledge of the Office Pack
- Mastery of French both orally and in writing essential

Employment conditions
- Status : master’s officer
- Fixed term contract of 6 months
- Post to be filled as soon as possible
- Monthly gross salary of 3306 euros
- Post based in Abidjan with regular travel in the country
- Equivalent 13th month paid in 2 times – from 6 months of’seniority of actual work
- ’expatriation premium of 10% of gross salary per month

- Individual accommodation with monthly allowance
- 22.5 RTT /year
- 5 Weeks paid leave /year
