Plan International, promotes the rights of children. It is committed to the protection of boys and girls, as well as gender equality, through empowerment, particularly of girls and adolescents.
Through gender-transforming projects, the empowerment of girls, the prevention and elimination of gender-based violence, in particular sexual violence, are sought, including the harassment of which they are victims in most of the space in which they operate.

In Mexico, Plan International develops a program to prevent violence and provide services to girls, adolescents, and families in mobility situations. More specifically, the project, from Plan International México, has been prepared with the intention of addressing two critical components of the Central American migration crisis: (1) Provide support in access to multisectoral services to the migrant population with a specific focus on girls, boys, adolescents and victims of gender violence. (2) cover the basic, immediate and urgent needs in order to mitigate the exposure to violence of the migrant population with a specific focus on girls, children and adolescents and victims of gender violence.
The purpose of the plaza is to have the right person, that in collaboration with the local coordinator of the office in Ciudad Juárez and the local humanitarian action officer support the implementation and monitoring of activities at the local level, for the fulfillment of the results of the project. This person will be responsible, in collaboration with the coordinating air and the Plan technical team, for:
- Implement protection strategies and measures to ensure the safety of women, girls, boys and adolescents (NNA) in situations of human mobility, providing support through Multipurpose Cash-Assistance in Ciudad Juárez.
- Collaborate closely with consortium organizations to identify and address the most urgent needs of survivors of gender violence.
- Coordinate with the leading organization of the consortium the dissemination of information to guarantee greater access to mental health services and psychosocial support.
- Implement specialized case management services for NNA survivors or at risk of gender violence in Ciudad Juárez
- Strengthen the capacity of local providers in Ciudad Juárez through trainings focused on the emotional well-being of NNA on the move, prevention and protection in gender violence, identification of risks and needs, sexual and reproductive rights, challenges in menstrual hygiene and psychological first aid.
- Collaborate with the consortium and other agencies to ensure the complementarity of local training.

- Carry out regular evaluations of risks and specific needs of women, girls, boys and adolescents in mobility situations in Ciudad Juárez.
- Develop protection protocols adapted to the identified needs, establishing guidelines to guarantee a safe environment.
- Coordinate the efficient delivery of Multipurpose Cash Assistance to women, girls, boys and adolescents, ensuring equitable access and safe distribution.
- Establish a continuous monitoring system to evaluate the effectiveness of the measures implemented and make adjustments if necessary.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Fundamental requirements
- University degree in psychology, sociology, social sciences or related areas, or relevant experience in the field of migration.
- Significant experience (4 years) in community work and protection in girls, boys, adolescents and women in situations of human mobility.
- Technology tools domain: Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, others).
- Knowledge in protection accompaniment processes.
- Knowledge of children’s rights and the national legislative framework for the protection of children and adolescents and a gender perspective.
