WORK OBJECTIVE

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the MdV officer will be responsible for supervising and executing the activities of the project’s livelihood component Multisectoral and integrated water response, sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods and protection of women from indigenous communities in the state of Amazonas, Venezuela financed by the French Government (CDCS), in Puerto Ayacucho.

Among its main tasks, it will have to lead the activities of the MdV component of the project to ensure that the scope, the budget, schedule and quality are in accordance with different project specifications, donor requirements, and Acted rules and procedures.

FUNCTIONS

 Develop MdV activities in the field, ensuring that international standards and guidelines are met, and that activities are aligned with Acted’s MdV strategic plan and identified needs.
 Plan the various stages of project activities implementation and set direction
setting priorities and organizing activities and resources to achieve the project objectives.
 Ensure that project execution is carried out on time, with the objective and the budget
established
 Anticipate and mitigate the risks associated with the implementation of MdV activities throughout the execution of the project.
 Supervise the activities of MdV carried out by the personnel of the organization under their charge, as well as the fulfillment of the work plans of the implementing partners in MdV issues.
 Collect, analyze and share information on MdV needs and on the MdV situation in Amazonas.
 Lead the design process of MdV interventions in all the sectors that the
organization (Protection, ASH), preparing technical specifications, quantities of work and
specific characteristics related to MdV throughout the design process, tender,
acquisition, installation and operation of infrastructure works or program team activities.
 Perform on-site supervision, ensuring that materials are used in accordance with the requested amounts of work; keep records and coordinate any adjustments with the logistics and procurement unit and infrastructure assistants.
 Training for users and beneficiaries: Support the selection, training and management of users or beneficiaries of MdV actions, including the strengthening of local leaders and community volunteers.
 Supervise that target communities and local authorities in charge of MdV participate in the design of activities and delivery of goods or services, promoting a sense of ownership.
 Plan the logistics, administration and coordination of meetings, workshops and trainings of the
project under the ASH component.
 Project Reports and Records: Write reports and keep track of project MdV activities, including research reports; information disaggregated by
sex / gender / special needs of beneficiaries; monitoring reports, etc.
 Support the identification and documentation of good practices, beneficiary stories and lessons learned from MdV programming.
 Contribute to the preparation of concept notes and project proposals in the MdV component.
 Represent Acted in relevant spaces, including thematic group coordination meetings, MdV cluster and meetings with implementing partners when necessary.
 Ensure that all data and information on MdV components in projects are
Archive and Share Properly at Sharepoint.
 Any other task or responsibility designated by the Project Manager, the Base Manager or the Area Coordinator

REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
 Professional title (graduate or master’s degree) in agronomic, environmental or other discipline engineering
related.

 At least two (2) years of relevant experience in implementing ASH projects.
Preferably in an international NGO.
 Handling of generic humanitarian guides and manuals such as Sphere Manual.
 Experience in dealing with national partners and local / government authorities
 Experience in proven organizational skills.
 Experience working in multicultural work environments
 Microsoft Office Package Domain
 Soft skills: dynamism, leadership, Team management, autonomy, high attention to detail, responsibility, assertive communication, results orientation, transparency, flexibility.

Desirable (not mandatory):
 Experience in education and training.

CONDITIONS
 Contract for the provision of services for 9 months with the possibility of renewal according to
budget availability and performance.
 Workplace: Face-to-face at the ACTED office in Puerto Ayacucho.
 Professional Fees according to the Scale of the organization.
