About this position
The IDB Representation ( COF ) in Colombia is looking for an active undergraduate student to be hired as a 2023 intern under the Consultant modality.
The COF / Offices Internship Program is a paid opportunity for university students from member countries to learn about the Bank’s development and corporate management work, and gain professional work experience through learning at work.
What you will do:
Internal communication:
- Design materials related to internal activities and initiatives such as invitations, presentations, templates, among others.
- Contribute to the research, writing / production and editing of content for internal bulletins ( Contact and CANews ), Intranet and audiovisual billboards ( screens ) of the Representation of Colombia.
- Support the organization of events for IDB collaborators such as BBL ( Brown Bag Lunch ).
- Contribute to taking photographs, as well as keep the local photographic archive updated.
- Provide ideas and recommendations for the implementation of the internal communication plan, as well as maintain constant communication with the administrative, operational, economic and sector teams, to identify internal communication needs.
External communication:
- Contribute to the taking of photographs of events and projects in the different sectors of the Bank.
- Support the organization and logistics of events for external audiences.
- In some cases, support the design of presentations for events or meetings, according to the needs of the Bank team.
- In some cases, contribute to the collection of information related to press management.
What you will need
- Education: Active undergraduate student of Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design or related careers at an accredited university. The graduation date must be after the last day of the internship.
- Languages : Be competent in English and preferably with practical knowledge of one of the Bank’s additional official languages ( ejm. Spanish, Portuguese or French ).
- Soft skills : Orientation to results, collaboration, innovation, customer orientation, good level of communication, motivation, eager to learn and excellent time management.
- Technical skills: Advanced management of Adobe Creative Suite ( Illustrator, Premier, Photoshop ) and Canva. Knowledge in content generation in different formats ( text, video, audio ). Writing texts of institutional and journalistic style. Customer relationship management software ( CRM ) Knowledge in taking photographs and production. Database administration ( especially contacts ) and email management for marketing ( MailChimp or Banana tag ).
Requirements
- Citizenship : Be a citizen of Colombia .
- Age : Be between 21 and 27 years old for undergraduate students, or up to 33 years old for graduate students from the start date of the internship.
- Consanguinity : Not having relatives ( up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including the spouse ) working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
- First job in the IDB Group : To be a participant for the first time in a Internship Program organized by the Bank or the Inter-American Investment Corporation ( “Corporation” also known as “IDB Invest” ). In addition, not having been a former staff member, Complementary Workforce ( “CW” ), contractor of the Bank or Corporation, or not having previously provided services to the Bank or the Corporation through a contractor or under any other contractual modality.

Type of contract and duration :
- Type of contract : CNS / Intern Consultant.
- Contract duration : 5 and a half months ( 5.5 months ), from September 16, 2023 to February 29, 2024.
