CARE – INNOVATE – TOGETHER: Since its creation in 2009, ALIMA has treated more than 10 million patients, and today deploys its operations in 12 African countries as well as in Ukraine. In 2022, we have developed more than 62 humanitarian medical response projects to meet the needs of populations affected by conflicts, epidemics and extreme poverty. All of these projects are carried out in support of national health authorities through nearly 511 health structures. We often work in partnership with local NGOs to ensure that our patients benefit from expertise wherever it is, whether in their country or in the rest of the world. In addition, to improve the humanitarian response, we conduct operational and clinical research projects, in particular to combat malnutrition and viral hemorrhagic fevers.

THE ALIMA TEAM: More than 1,800 people currently work for ALIMA. The field teams, closest to patients, receive their support from the coordination teams based in the capitals of the countries of intervention and at the operational headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. Teams in Paris, Dakar, London and New York are actively working on fundraising as well as representing ALIMA.

ALIMA promotes and defends the principles of fundamental human rights . ALIMA has a zero tolerance approach towards those guilty of acts of gender-based and sexual violence as well as towards inaction in the face of alleged or proven acts of violence. The protection of those benefiting from and impacted by our intervention is our top priority in everything we do. Anyone collaborating with ALIMA commits to:

  • Respect the charter, the code of conduct, institutional policies including the policy of protection against abuse of power and sexist and sexual violence, the policy of prevention of corruption and fraud;
  • Report any violation of policies, framework documents and procedures to a superior, a supervisor, a referent.

CONTEXT

ALIMA is looking for an intern for the development team (Fundraising and fundraising from the private sector) to strengthen fundraising activities in Europe, especially in France, Switzerland and Germany.

Functional and hierarchical links:

Internship supervisor: Head of major donors and partnerships

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The intern assists the Major Donors team in prospecting and donor retention activities in Europe, especially in France, Germany and Switzerland.

Missions and activities:

  • Support donor relations officers and the prospecting and partnerships officer to actively identify, seek out and qualify new donors with the capacity to make significant donations.
  • Conduct research on Foundations in France, Germany and Switzerland.
  • Analyze CSR (corporate social responsibility) activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of funding proposals and meetings in Germany, France and Switzerland.
  • Monitor best practices in fundraising.
  • Develop a good knowledge of ALIMA projects and identify donation opportunities.
  • Contribute to the writing of reports.
  • Support the organization of information and loyalty events for donors.

TRAINING

Student in Marketing, Economics, Management, Political Science, International Relations, Communication or equivalent.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Motivated by humanitarian action and the mission of ALIMA.
  • Proficiency in computer tools Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Ability to work in a team and good interpersonal skills.
  • High writing skills.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Fluency in English is required, German will be a plus.

TERMS

Contract: Internship agreement

Compensation: Legal compensation (€625/month) + 50% transport reimbursement

Contract duration: 4-6 months

Start date: As soon as possible
