About this position

The Department of Strategy and Development’s (DSP) primary role is to lead IDB Invest efforts to create, implement and sustain its strategic vision and achieve development impact and additionality. DSP delivers on Development Effectiveness, Strategic Planning and Knowledge, Social Environmental and Governance, Advisory Services and Corporate Affairs.

Corporate Affairs (DSP/CAT) is responsible for: (i) promoting, developing and coordinating Management relationship with key governance and oversight bodies within the IDB Group; (ii) outreach and dialogue with partners in the development community, including MDBs, DFIs and other international organizations; (iii) implementation of IDB Invest’s Access to Information (ATI) Policy and promoting transparency in our operations; and (iv) strategic advice to the Chief Strategy Officer and serving as front office for DSP.

What you’ll do :

You will report directly to the Director, CSO Advisor and work in collaboration and under the technical lead of Corporate Affairs and Transparency Officers across CAT’s different functional areas.

Without limitation, your primary responsibilities will include:

  •  Complete the day-to-day activities of the Transparency Hub and any successor platform to manage access to information requests, including the identification of workflow, assignment of appropriate stakeholder, information gathering and research for the preparation of draft answers, coordination of process and answer to the requester.
  •  Support the efforts to implement the ATI policy by following up on proactive disclosure of institutional information in IDB Invest website in coordination with relevant teams and the Access to Information / Communication team.
  •  Support the Social Environmental and Governance, and the Social and Environmental Risk teams in the handling of Grievances through the platform, as needed to ensure synergies and improve transparency.
  •  Support in the management of the relationship with international organizations and initiatives, particularly in the field of transparency, including IATI, Publish What You Fund and relevant stakeholders in the field.
  •  Produce information management reports with relevant statistics to be provided to upper management and the Board. Manage analytics and reporting tools to evaluate the effectiveness of corporate affairs initiatives and activities. Contribute to communications needs relating to the Corporate Affairs and Transparency functions.
  •  Support in the management of the relationships with key corporate relationships, including the office of the Secretary (SEC) and the Board of Executive Directors and its committees, including the coordination of and participation in meetings, drafting and/or review of minutes, maintaining a program of scheduled Board Committee meetings, channeling of requests and consultations, support in training and onboarding, among others.
  •  Support the coordination of IIC’s work plan with diverse internal governance services and offices (e.g., the Office of the Executive Auditor, the Office of Evaluation and Oversight, among others). Assist technical teams in the preparation of action plans for implementation of recommendations. Supervise the progress in the implementation of recommendations and related activities interacting with all relevant IDB Invest departments.
  •  Coordination of prompt and accurate response to information requests from the IDBG, Board of Governors, and Executive Directors, as well as external stakeholders.
  •  Supports the work of the Chief Strategy Officer and their principal advisor(s) in the preparation of written and audiovisual reports, presentations, and documents.
  •  As required, provide support to the Resource Planning and Administration and Front Office of the Department, including in the organization of events, townhalls, communications, engagement activities and similar.

What you’ll need

  •  Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in International Affairs, Business Administration, Political Science, Development, Economy, Law, or another relevant field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  •  Experience: At least 2 years of experience in transparency and access to information, corporate and institutional affairs, business administration, international relations, strategic partnerships, stakeholder management and transparency, corporate law, or a related field, preferably in multinational and multicultural environments. Experience in a sophisticated environment managing multiple priorities simultaneously, preferably in international organizations. Candidates should possess a clear understanding of the operational work of IDB Invest and the IDB Group.
  •  Language Skills: Oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish are required. Knowledge of another IDB Invest official language (French and/or Portuguese) is a plus.

Requirements

  •  Citizenship: No requirements
  •  Consanguinity : You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

  •  International: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
