Overview of position

  • CTG is looking for candidates whose experience match the below TOR.

Role objectives

  • Safeguards information systems & assets from unauthorized activities, including inspection, detection, modification, recording & any disruption or destruction of service by identifying, solving potential & actual security issues / treats.
  • Perform periodic & on demand risks / vulnerability assessments & prepare reports with recommendations for security improvements.
  • Monitor systems & unsure appropriate access privileges & control structure are in place.
  • Assist the preparation of the field technology section’s disaster recovery / operational resilience plan & security incident response plan.
  • Performs disaster recovery exercises & security incident response exercises.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies in the field of cybersecurity, identify technologies & provide proof of concept.
  • Conduct cyber security awareness training for all mission personnel.

Project reporting

  • This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies

  • Degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent education.
  • Must have CompTIA Security S+ certification.
  • Microsoft, Cisco Security certifications & other advanced security certifications such as CISSP are desirable.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the field of cyber security.
  • Working experience with Nessus / Lansweeper vulnerability scanning solutions.
  • Working experience with Microsoft 365 defender portal.
  • Proficiency with anti virus, HIPS, ID / PS.
  • Experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g. netflow) & other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations.
  • Understanding of TCP / IP, common networking ports & protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense in depth & common security elements.
  • Fluency in both English & French (written & oral) is required.
  • Must have a national driver’s license for a light motor vehicle.

Team management

  • This role has no team management responsibility.
