Health technician in sexual and reproductive health and child health
Location: Saharawi refugee population camps (Tinduf, Algeria)
Mission
The purpose of the position is to support the design, development and supervision of actions in support of the sexual and reproductive health (PNSR) and child health (PISIS) programs of the projects that the organization develops in the Saharawi Refugee Camps in Tindouf.

He will work under the technical supervision of the Health Coordination and will work together with the entire team of Doctors of the World in the field to achieve the objectives.
Responsibilities
In coordination with the Health Coordination, carry out health needs assessments in the areas of intervention for ongoing projects or possible new interventions and contribute to the formulation of projects.
In coordination with those responsible for the Saharawi Ministry of Public Health (MSP), identify the needs for pharmaceutical products (medicines, consumable material and durable medical equipment) for PNSR PISIS programs.
Technically support the formulation processes with a logical framework approach related to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRS) / Child Health (SI) of MdM projects in CRS, ensuring the mainstreaming of gender and anthropological approaches
Promote, plan and execute health activities and the strengthening of public health services:
Accompany the PNSR teams (national coordinators, regional coordinations, secretariat) according to a cycle of continuous improvement (plan, implement, verify, act)
Provide technical support to health personnel adhering to the PNSR and PISIS of the three levels of care: National Hospital, regional hospitals and dispensaries.
Lead cutting studies of the PNSR and PISIS programs. Accompany the data collection of the Health Information System. In collaboration with the Health Coordination, contribute to the analysis of health indicators and the proposal to propose improvement solutions to the MSP.
Support in updating, implementing and monitoring the standard protocols and procedures of the PNSR and PISIS to guarantee quality interventions. Monitor its implementation and accompany those responsible for the MSP to promote compliance at different levels of care.
Technically check purchase dossiers for medications, medical equipment, and consumables.
Promote the proper functioning of MSP monitoring and coordination tools such as the PNSR-PISIS Platform, monthly coordination meetings and with the rest of the priority programs. Promote and accompany the celebration of the Maternal Death Committee. Participate in the organization of the Annual Assembly of the Health Coordination and Coordination Table and contribute to the preparation of information for donors.
Contribute to gender mainstreaming in health, in accordance with the MSP Gender and Health Plan, the MDM policies and the orientation of the Gender and Human Rights Coordination.
Technically support the management cycle of health volunteering and field internships.
Actively contribute to the humanitarian response in the event of emergencies and catastrophes.
Accompaniment and monitoring of the health component of ongoing projects considering the logic of project intervention, as well as their coherence and complementarity with other actions, products and activities
Follow up on health activities of the organization’s active projects and specifically with regard to the SSR and SSI, including maternal and child malnutrition.
Collect and systematize the health / health data and indicators of the MDM monitoring system, specifically with regard to SRH, SSI and maternal and child malnutrition and the PNSR and PISIS programs. Participate in the analysis of indicators together with the Health Coordination.
Ensure the availability of verification sources, especially in relation to SSR and SI. Contribute to the justification of the projects.
Support in the training and education cycle of health personnel:
Support the MSP in detecting training and education needs of health personnel, in relation to SSR / SS and Sexual and Reproductive Rights (DDSSRR).
Give technical support and promote regular training to health personnel adhering to the PNSR and PISIS.
Support in the evaluations of midwife and nursing students of the School of Nursing, and where appropriate, in the review of programs and contents.
Accompany in the development of skills / awareness of relevant issues regarding SRH and Child Health. Promote awareness and integration of the gender approach in health.
Actively contribute to the systematization and adoption of good practices in MDM:
Contribute to articulation and coordination with the rest of the areas, and specifically with logistics, administration, gender and human rights, pharmacy and political advocacy, actively participating in team meetings
Actively contribute to mainstreaming gender, anthropological and environmental approaches in MDM interventions.
Contribute to the monitoring of the mission strategy and coherence between the different projects underway from the different health areas.
Participate in technical-health spaces for regular discussion and coordination and transmit to the Health Coordination elements that require attention and contribute to the analysis of alternatives.
Support the implementation and monitoring of safety and health protocols and procedures for MDM staff and volunteers.
Contribute to the update of the Country Strategy.
Other tasks that may be required by the Health Coordination within the scope of its responsibilities and functions.
Minimum requirements
Training
Academic Degree:
Required: Nurse specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology / Matron.
Additional training:
(Highly desirable) Complementary training linked to the exercise of their profession, gender and health anthropology. Master / Postgraduate in International Cooperation / Humanitarian Action / Public health.
Requirements
Languages: Essential excellent level of Spanish
Highly desirable: English, French and / or Arabic
Computing: Essential user level of Word, Excel, internet and email. Desirable average level of Excel.
Experience
Essential field experience in international cooperation in the aforementioned functions.
