Focus on our activities in NIGER

PUI has been present in Niger since 2017, as part of its regional strategy in the Sahel Central region and since the deterioration of the security situation in the area of « 3 borders », and implements health programs to help vulnerable populations. Today, PUI has a coordinating office in Niamey as well as two operational bases in Ouallam and Torodi, in the Tillaberi region and an operational base in Maradi. The actions of PUI in Niger, supported by BHA and CDCS, aim to improve access to care and strengthen monitoring and alert systems, particularly community-based systems, while working towards a sustainable strengthening of health structures in the region of Tillaberi and Maradi.Our teams strengthen the health system by supporting health centres in the region and deploying mobile clinics to facilitate access to healthcare.

And the.the Health Coordinator in all this ?

As a Health Coordinator, you will be the guarantor of the’ elaboration and the’application of the operational strategy in Health of the mission as well as the quality of the current and future Health programs in the phases of definition, implementation monitoring and evaluation. You will strengthen the capacities of the Mission Health department and provide technical support to project teams and in particular to Health project managers in a functional relationship. You will ensure the representation of PUI to the authorities, humanitarian actors and donors for the health sector.

For this purpose, your responsibilities will be as follows :

• Context analysis / Strategy / Development : You will participate in the development of the operational strategy in Health and contribute to the development of new relevant interventions in Health on the mission according to the needs identified in the country, and, respecting the policy and framework of’health intervention of PUI. In coordination with the’ health team, you will ensure an epidemiological watch on the country and analyze its strengths and weaknesses from a public health point of view.
• Quality of the Programmes : You will provide functional technical support in your field of’expertise to program teams, in particular to Health program managers, and you will ensure the quality and efficiency of the/mission Health Programs.
• Representation / Coordination : You will ensure the sectoral representation in Health of PUI to partners, donors, national authorities and local actors. You will represent PUI in the meetings of the Health Cluster or sector coordination group in Health. You will contribute to the proper flow of information from the Health sector.
• Human Resources / Training : You will offer technical support to project teams and in particular to Health teams. You will provide support to project managers for the recruitment of technical staff in Health. In collaboration with the Head of Mission (CDM) and/or the CDM Deputy Programme and the Head Office Health Reference, you will identify the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and gaps of the Health department. You will oversee the content of Health training and the quality of Health activities based on identified needs.
• Logistics and administration : You will ensure that the teams under your responsibility comply with the logistical and administrative procedures and keep the logistics and administrative departments informed of any relevant developments.
• Safety : You will contribute to compliance with the security rules on the mission and transmit any safety information to your line manager and/or the/the security manager of the mission. You will contribute when necessary to the choice of referencing options for the health care of the expatriates of the mission.

• Support the mission in drafting project proposals and possible deployment to new areas ;
• Conduct assessments on new areas ;
• Oversee the technical quality of projects and programmes, in the design, implementation and evaluation phases ;
• Support field coordinators in a functional relationship ;
• Participate actively in the development of mission strategy.

What you will need to succeed

• Training: You can justify a higher degree in the medical or paramedical field. On the other hand, a training in Public Health or in project management would be appreciated.
• Experience: You have at least three years of field experience in international NGO, in the coordination of medical projects.You have already held positions of Medical Coordinator.e or equivalent in an international NGO ? This will be highly appreciated. Have you worked with First International Emergency ? It will be an undeniable asset!
• Skills: You have mastered humanitarian project management and team management, you have in-depth knowledge of the main donors. You have excellent writing skills.
• Qualities required: You show good relationships, ease of communication, both in writing and in oral, and you have a taste for teamwork. You are able to work independently with initiative, demonstrate a sense of responsibility, an excellent capacity for analysis, rigor and organization, responsiveness and adaptability. You have excellent resistance to stress and an ability to work under pressure.
• Languages: French and English have no secrets for you ! So much the better, these are essential languages for this position.

• Status: Framework in Contract with Determined Duration
• Gross monthly salary: 2 650,00 – 3 130,00 EUR according to your experience in international solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI
• Assurance including medical and complementary health coverage, 24/24 assistance, repatriation and pension

• Break regime: 5 Working days to 3 and 9 months mission + break premium
• Paid Leave Plan: 5 Weeks from CP/year + A/R air ticket at home every 6 months
