Acted Haiti

Present in Haiti since 2004, Acted responds to emergencies and supports the recovery of populations in need, in particular in the fields of’eau,’ hygiene and’ sanitation, food security and reconstruction. In collaboration with civil society and institutions, Acted also develops and implements programmes focused on socio-economic development and’ adaptation to climate change. Acted currently works in 5 departments in Haiti namely the Grand’Anse, the South, the Southeast, the’Ouest, and the Center, and soon in the Nippes.

Concerning the major achievements of’Acted in 2020-2021 :

5,562 people have received monetary assistance in order to provide for their priority needs
12 Health centres rehabilitated and supported in order to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic
35’eau networks and rehabilitated infrastructures to improve’access to’eau,’hygiene and’sanitation
1,125 people relocated thanks to the reconstruction of their home
394,532 people sensitized to preventive measures against Covid-19

Following the earthquake of August 14, 2021 that devastated the departments of the South, Grande Anse and Nippes in Haiti, Acted recruits. Acted was one of the first humanitarian organizations to conduct rapid assessments to determine the extent of damage and needs, and is already strongly mobilized to provide emergency assistance to earthquake victims, in close collaboration with Haitian authorities. The activities currently carried out concern the transport of’ drinking water, the distribution of kits of’ hygiene and the conduct of works of’ sanitation and rehabilitation of networks of’ water, but also the distribution of food, the payment of’ emergency financial aid, the distribution of essential goods and, soon, the establishment of housing solutions for the most vulnerable people, includingin 12 communes of the 3 departments.

Main role and responsibilities

The/the Country Security Manager is responsible for the supervision of the daily management of the security of all the premises and project sites of’Acted , ensuring a permanent control and an evaluation of the security situation of the country, referring and implementing the technical safety management guides of’Acted and the protocols. He/She will also advise the Country Director and the’ senior management team on all safety and security issues and provide appropriate security training and support.

Qualifications and skills required

  • At least 2-3 years of’ field experiments in unstable area; preferably in Africa, Asia or Middle East;
  • Extensive experience in security procedures and management ;
  • Established communication and organizational competence ;
  • Ability to train, mobilize and manage national and international teams ;
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to work in an unstable and changing environment ;
  • Be prepared to work and live in remote areas in simple conditions ;
  • Ability to be creative and independent, in the field and in the office;

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the Acted salary grid according to the level of’studies, the’expertise, the level of security and the level of experience : between 3000 and 4200 € monthly net (before income taxes)
  • Monthly living expenses allowance 300$
  • Guesthouse accommodation and food supported by Acted
  • Social security, mutual insurance (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) supported by Acted
  • Transport to the mission and return ticket fully supported every 6 months (to the’address specified on the employment contract)
  • Visa fees supported by Acted
  • R&R every 3 months (aircraft ticket’ supported up to’ 500$ + additional allowance of 200$)
  • One week of preparation for departure including 4 days of immersion safety training
  • Possibility of’having a call of 30 minutes with a consultant in taxation
  • Psychological support (meet with a professional.le)
