Job Description

Background

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are core principles at UNDP: we value diversity as an expression of the multiplicity of nations and cultures where we operate, we foster inclusion as a way of ensuring all personnel are empowered to contribute to our mission, and we ensure equity and fairness in all our actions. Taking a ‘leave no one behind’ approach to our diversity efforts means increasing representation of underserved populations. People who identify as belonging to marginalized or excluded populations are strongly encouraged to apply. Learn more about working at UNDP including our values and inspiring stories.

UNDP does not tolerate sexual exploitation and abuse, any kind of harassment, including sexual harassment, and discrimination. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office of Information and Technology Management (ITM) is the organization’s primary provider of ICT systems and green energy services and solutions to a global network of 155+ UNDP Country Offices and partners worldwide. ITM’s mission is to develop Smart Facilities which guarantee efficient, innovative and sustainable management of technologies for UN facilities and partners consistent with Sustainable Development Goals. Among other technologies, ITM offers a framework of best practices to deliver resilient, highly available, and sustainable business solutions that permeate across the organization. The ITM office in Copenhagen is expanding the team to cover respective green energy services which include, but are not limited to, e-Mobility, solar PV installation, energy efficiency, training and capacity building and waste management. These services are aligned with the organization’s Digital Transformation Agenda and Smart Facilities Initiative.

As part of efforts to strengthen the e-Mobility service to its clients, ITM has come up with a rollout procedure to cater for the diverse needs of the clients. Based on the more mature 7-Step process for solar PV implementation, the e-Mobility process seeks to ensure efficient and high-quality project implementation for sustainable service provision to the beneficiaries. The e-Mobility service, and particularly Vehicle-Grid-Integration (VGI), is part of the Smart Facilities concept being rolled-out in UNDP premises. The roll-out process is meant to be an end-to-end process which provides a turn-key solution for the end users, with focus on end-of-life vehicle (ELV) management and Energy Storage as a key for integration.

The full roll-out process constitutes of: Step 1 – Vehicle Utilization & Assessment, Step 2 – Business Case Compilation, Step 3 – Procurement, Step 4 – Site Survey, Step 5 – Technical Design, Step 6 – Installation, and Step 7 – Operations & Maintenance.
