Roles and Responsibilities:

Grant Management

  • Supervise the entire lifestyle of grant, from proposal / modification development to reporting, ensuring alignment with EU requirements and SCM standards.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of EU guidelines, policies, and compliance regulations.
  • Collaborate with program / project managers and other departments to gather necessary information for grant applications and reports.
  • Update grants management tools and information including but not limited to donor reporting tracker, and Grant tracker.
  • Assist in preparing, facilitating and following up on grant meetings for SCM and Partners (kick-off meetings, review meetings, project closure meetings).

Reporting

  • Manage reporting workflows and processes between program teams, senior leadership, and Partners to ensure high-quality and timely development and review of reports.
  • Prepare necessary tools for report development with detailed requests for data provision.
  • Develop and prepare high-quality, timely reports for the EU, ensuring all EU reporting requirements are met and positioned to demonstrate SCMs leadership in programming.
  • Support the Project / Program manager in providing timely, thorough responses to information requests from internal and external sources.
  • Proposal Development
  • Support the Project / Program manager in overseeing partners and SCM proposals / modifications, including draft, review, update and producing high quality proposals or modification requests.
  • Collect contributions and compile inputs from program staff, technical advisers, and partners (if relevant) in line with the proposal development plan.

Monitoring

  • Work closely with program M&E staff to ensure credible, best-practice monitoring and reporting of program activities in accordance with SCM and donor requirements.

Other

  • Other tasks as assigned by the Project / Program manager.

Requirement, Skills, and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience with an international / national development organization.
  • Familiarity with EU might with special attention to reporting requirements.
  • Ability to represent SCM to international, government officials, local groups and community members.
  • Proven analytical and writing skills
  • Proven communication, interpersonal, representation, negotiation, promotion and diplomacy skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Flexible, enthusiastic and willingness to learn from others
  • Strong initiative and self-motivated
  • Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and fluent oral English and Arabic.

  • Responsibilities:
    Grant management
  • Supervising the grant life cycle from developing the proposal / amending it to preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the European Union and the standards of the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of and compliance with European Union guidelines, policies and compliance regulations
  • Cooperate with program / project managers and other departments to collect information necessary for grant requests and reports.
  • Update grant management tools and information including, but not limited to, a follow-up schedule (follower) of donor reports and a follow-up table (follower) of grants.
  • Assist in preparing, facilitating and following up grant meetings for the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression and Partners (launch, review and project closure meetings).Preparing and submitting reports:
  • Manage the reporting process and associated processes between the program team, management and partners to ensure high-quality reporting development and review within the specified time.
  • Provide tools to develop reports and include detailed requests for data provision.
  • Developing and preparing high-quality reports within the specified time to ensure that all requirements for preparing European Union reports have been taken in a manner that ensures the display of administrative capabilities in the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression
  • Support the project manager / program in providing comprehensive responses within the specified time for requests for information from internal and external sources.

Development of proposals

  • Support the project manager / program in supervising the proposals / amendments of the projects of the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression and partners, including preparing the first draft, reviewing and updating, and submitting high-quality proposals or requests for amendment.
  • Collect contributions and collect inputs from program staff, technical advisors and (relevant) partners in line with the proposed development plan.

Monitoring

  • Work closely with the Monitoring and Development Department to ensure the process of monitoring and preparing reliable reports based on best practices for the activities of the program in line with the requirements of the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression and Donor

Required certificates and competencies:

  • At least two years of professional experience with an international / national development organization.
  • Familiarity with donors in the European Union with special attention to reporting requirements.
  • The ability to represent the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression before international donors, government officials, local groups and members of society.
  • Proven skills in analysis and written skills
  • Demonstrated skills in communicating and dealing with others, acting, negotiating, promoting and diplomacy
