Overview
Reaching Impact Saturation and Epidemic Control (RISE) Nigeria aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of high-impact, evidence-based HIV/AIDS and TB interventions in Taraba states of Nigeria
Considering this public health direction to achieve HIV epidemic control, a specialized 5-day training program focused on Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS) for Jhpiego staff. QGIS, an open-source GIS software, is a useful tool for spatial analysis and mapping in public health. This training aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to use QGIS for improved disease surveillance, targeted intervention planning, and comprehensive spatial analysis. This program aims to provide professionals with a robust toolkit for addressing complex health challenges through the lens of spatial technology by bridging the gap between public health and geospatial technology.
The training will delve into practical applications of QGIS in public health contexts, ensuring that participants gain not only theoretical knowledge but also hands-on experience that directly aligns with their roles and responsibilities in HIV prevention, care and control.
As we approach HIV saturation, it is important to be more targeted in finding new cases and reaching recipients of care with services. RISE is seeking to engage a consultant to work with the team to facilitate a training on GIS.
