France – Stage : Redaction & Relations Presse (H/F) – Clichy At Solidarity International

WHAT WE DO …

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to the vital needs of, drinking, eating, s’abriter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, of, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, SI – 2000 teams in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, etc,some volunteers..- intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POST

Mission :

Within the Development and Communication department made up of 22 people, and directly attached ( e ) to the Press Relations Department, and in collaboration with the Editorial Coordinator, you will support the communication service for editorial production and press relations.

Main tasks :

Aid for the production of editorial content and the preparation of publications

• 2 Support for the management of editorial projects or publications : data collection, realization of’interviews, research of’information
• 2 Editorial : articles, publications, web content, press releases, press kits, press reviews…
• Editorial Secretariat : proofreading, revision, correction of editorial content
• Support for the updating of the web content in connection with the other departments
• Transcription of videos
• Research of iconographic material
• Managing the translation needs of web articles
• Follow-up of new trends and editorial proposals
• Participation in reflections and service meetings

Support to the Press Relations Officer

• Support for the management of press relations as required: organization of interview requests, information gathering, follow-up of interviews
• Press fallout: harvest of press benefits, follow-up and updating of the document centralizing press benefits
• Identification ( mapping ) of journalists and media. Creation of lists on the press relations management tool ( Luqi ).
• Support for press relations on social networks: identification of journalists / accounts, follow-up of mentions, watch.
• Analysis of press spinoffs and creation of ad hoc press reviews

Occasional tasks :

• Support during the’organisation of’internal or external events by the Development and Communication department: debates, press conferences, screenings…
• Participation in crisis communication, especially during humanitarian emergencies

Contributions of the internship :

• Discover the functioning of the’une NGO headquarters and relations with the field
• Discover the different professions of INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITIES in the field and at headquarters
• Apprehend the humanitarian issues of’ONG and its partners
• participate in the’implementation of the strategy Communication of’a humanitarian NGO
• S’initiate to the procedures in place within the’ONG
• Putting into practice and perfecting your editorial skills
• Understanding the functioning of relations between journalists and NGOs
• Evolving in a multicultural environment

YOUR PROFILE

TRAINING, SKILLS AND QUALITIES

Higher education (bac level +3 minimum) in journalism, communication, international law or humanitarian project management
Very good writing skills
Perfect French and fluent English (written and oral)
Capacity of’analysis and synthesis
Autonomy, rigor, organization, efficiency
Spirit of’team
Real interest and motivation for the’associatif and the’humanitaire
IT : Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and social networks, email (Outlook)

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

Internship based in the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), metro Mairie de Clichy

Intern with compulsory internship agreement.
Gratification : 4,90 euros/hour
The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (Average 1 month = 154h, or 22 days of 7h/day)
Public transport supported at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
Tickets restaurant at 8,90 € /daily internship, with participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
