The purpose of the Finance Team Leader position is to oversee the accounting and financial management of resources in the assigned area, in accordance with the country’s regulations and standards, NRC and donor requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
Generic responsibilities

2. Manage the performance and development of the work team.
3. Contribute, with the Area Manager, in the development, management and monitoring of the project budget.
4. Contribute to the development of the area’s strategy, as well as the preparation of new proposals.
5. Follow up daily on actions that impact accounting and finance, guaranteeing their registration and reconciliation.
6. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in activities.
7. Ensure the capacity building of finance staff and transfer key skills.
8. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
9. Promote and contribute to NRC learning
Specific responsibilities
one. Coordinate the actions required in Project Cycle Management (PCM), and financial and accounting reporting (internal and for donors) that support the execution of projects in the Area
2. Coordinate financial work between the Offices that make up the Area and the central level in accordance with the financial manual and donor requirements.
3. Review and consolidate the information of the donor’s budget format for the different proposals, with the inputs received from Programs and the Area Management.
4. Consolidate and follow up on the financial action plan of the area.
5. Prepare the accounting / financial reports according to the guidelines, terms, policies and systems of the Donors, and NRC that facilitate the identification of needs or deviations that require decision-making for your attention.
6. Prepare, update and follow up, together with the Support Coordinator for the annual budget of the Area.
7. Guarantee the monthly financial closure of the Area in accordance with the rules and deadlines established in the financial manual and the applicable SOPs.
8. Coordinate the attention of external / internal audits in the Area and provide the required information.
9. Coordinate constant training for the financial team and support staff and programs in the area regarding relevant financial issues.
10. Ensure the correct updating and filing of the sources of verification or financial documentation in the area.
eleven. Stay up-to-date on the financial, administrative, tax and internal control regulations and standards of local and global NRC, as well as the requirements of different donors.
12. Propose and participate in the improvements, design and standardization of NRC methodologies, protocols and tools, and actions that allow the effective management of resources.
13. The others assigned by the supervisor in fulfilling the objective of the position.
Qualifications
Generic professional skills:
• University graduate, preferably in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related fields.
• Postgraduate studies on issues related to the position or certificates on similar topics will be an advantage.
Context / Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
• Demonstrable experience of / in:
o Minimum 2 years of relevant technical experience in the area of accounting and finance.
o Experience in similar positions with an international organization, with United Nations Agencies and / or humanitarian context will be positively valued.
• Solid knowledge in Venezuelan accounting and tax regulations.
• Budget management.
