WHAT WE DO …

SOLIDARITY INTERNATIONAL (SI)is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for nearly 40 years, has been helping people who are victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting the vital needs, drinking, eating, sheltering. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, SI – 2000 teams in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers…intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary mission of the Ethics and Internal Audit service is to give assurance to leaders on how the structure protects itself from the risks assessed by equipping itself with a thoughtful system,’, effective and formalized control of its activity and to formulate recommendations to strengthen the’ efficiency. This purpose is served by a wide range of’expertises and responsibilities, guaranteed by an independence of the service. The service is also the guarantor of the ethical lines of the’organisation and ensures, among other things, the management of the’alertation mechanisms.

Under the hierarchical responsibility of the head of the Ethics and Internal Audit (SEAI) department, the/the assistant of the service will work closely with the two referents of the service (Referent Fight against abuse and referent internal audit) in the daily life of its tasks.

Through 6 essential pillars of the service : internal audit, internal control, classification and archiving, risk management and prevention/treatment of abuse, he/she (non-exhaustive list) :

  • Participates in ongoing projects led by the SEAI service teams, including but not limited to : revision of internal standards and tools dedicated to the prevention and treatment of reports of abusive behavior, establishment of the methodology and tools of’ due diligence exercises of implementing partners, and, implementation of systems and tools for monitoring recommendations, …
  • Assists in the review of’internal control tools such as signatory tables and participates in some spot-checking exercises
  • Participates in the’organization of’events, trainings, briefings and can be led to animate internal communication actions
  • Support for monitoring reports of abusive behavior
  • Participation in due diligence processes of implementing partners

YOUR PROFILE

The tasks to be performed are transversal and therefore require autonomy, rigor and versatility. Knowledge, or at least a desire to understand the humanitarian environment and its constraints is essential.

The tasks described in this announcement are likely to evolve according to the work in progress in the service as well as’ according to the needs of managers.

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL is committed to offering the trainee a variety of tasks as well as’ an internal training of preparation at the start allowing him to usefully strengthen his training/experience with a view to’a future humanitarian commitment. This internship is an opportunity to understand in depth the functioning of’a humanitarian NGO, its constraints and the different approaches.

Training and experience :

  • Higher training in the field of international relations and solidarity appreciated or any appropriate training meeting the required skills (internal audit, law..).

Required skills :

  • Strong writing ability in french and english, strong writing and synthesis capacity
  • French and English current compulsory
  • Interest in the sectors of’ethics and internal’audit,
  • Layout capabilities, graphic creation and visual creation
  • Sensitivity to the quality approach in the implementation of programs

Qualities required :

  • Real interest and motivation for the’associatif and the’humanitaire
  • Critical spirit and strength of proposal, rigor
  • Adaptability, autonomy and reactivity (several files to follow at the same time)
  • Aisance in the’use of the’computer tool and more particularly of the’environment Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Sharepoint, Access, Publisher..).
  • Relational ease and availability

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • Internship based in the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), metro Mairie de Clichy
  • Intern with compulsory internship agreement.
  • Gratification : 4,90 euros/hour
  • The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (Average 1 month = 154h, or 22 days of 7h/day)
  • Public transport supported at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
  • Tickets restaurant at 8,90 € /daily internship, with participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
