Empowered Youth Technician

With intervention in Panzós, Alta Verapaz

The minimum requirements include:

  • University studies in Social Work, Psychology or other Careers related to the development sector.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the implementation of actions focused on youth development. Preferably, with Municipal Offices for Children, Adolescents and Youth and / or with NGOs in Youth Programs.
  • Experience in community organization, especially in the formation of youth networks and in the implementation of actions to strengthen capacities in matters of context analysis, formulation of proposals, and advocacy to participate in decision-making spaces at the municipal level.
  • Experience in the development of situation studies at the territorial level and the elaboration of technical proposals to contribute to the search for investment opportunities in programs in favor of youth.
  • Experience in the implementation of the financial inclusion methodology (Savings and Loans Groups).
  • Experience the implementation of information and communication campaigns with impact.
  • Proven ability in the development of alliances, coordination and resource mobilization with the different actors involved in programmatic implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of community development principles, rights-based approach, especially respect for principles of participation, inclusion, gender, diversity and responsibility.
  • Q’eqchí language command, indispensable.
  • Knowledge of mobile technologies for the collection of information (telephones, tablets), essential.
  • Skill and mastery of Office packages (Word, Excel, Power Point), use of email, internet, Google Drive.
  • Current license to drive a two-wheeler.
  • Availability to stay in the intervention municipality of the Project. Preferably reside there.

The main functions include:

  • Implement programmatic actions, ensuring effective communication internally and externally to the Organization with the actors who will be present in the same geographic areas and spaces for participation.
  • Effectively manage with the Municipal Offices for Children, Adolescents and Youth; as well as with the institutional framework related to the theme to coordinate strategies.
  • Guarantee the logistics and quality control of the work carried out in the field.
