BACKGROUND:

Windle International Somalia (WISOM) is an International Non-Governmental organization with oversight support and coordination by regional Office in Nairobi. Windle was founded with the belief that good education was essential if Africa was to meet the challenges it faced. Windle International Somalia implements Education, Training and Integrated program in Livelihood and Economic Inclusion, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Climate Adaptation and Green Energy and Peace Building.

Windle is seeking a dedicated Education Program Officer-Teacher Training to support the implementation of the Accelerated Education Activity project. The Officer will coordinate field activities, manage stakeholder relationships, ensure compliance with project goals and donor requirements, and contribute to the overall success of the program.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Coordinate with coaches and ministry staff on day-to-day implementation and coaching of teachers in targeted schools conduct field visits to monitor implementation and provide feedback.
  • Build and maintain relationships with education authorities, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings to review project progress and address challenges.
  • Prepare and submit reports on activities, achievements, and lessons learned.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions for teachers and community members.
  • Develop and disseminate training materials and resources.
  • Prepare financial reports and support procurement processes.
  • Develop communication materials to highlight program achievements.
  • Assist in developing advocacy strategies for accelerated education programs.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or Diploma in Education.
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in education program management, coaching, teacher training and support.
  • Experience working with teachers including coaching and assessment and feedback.
  • Proven ability to plan, implement, and manage educational programs, including experience with Ministry of Education.
  • Understanding of and respect for cultural and socio-economic diversity, particularly in the context of education and humanitarian work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling communication materials and advocacy strategies.
  • Ability to design and deliver training sessions and provide mentorship to teachers for effective classroom instructions.
