ECPM is looking for an Education and Training project manager At Together Against the Death Penalty

Since 2000, Together Against the Death Penalty (ECPM) has been working to combat the death penalty throughout the world. The association encourages the universal abolition of the death penalty through advocacy with public authorities, strengthening abolitionist civil society, creating and distributing publications, supporting people sentenced to death, educating on human rights and the abolition of the death penalty in France and abroad.

The association is developing an educational program in France whose objective is to raise awareness among young people and citizens about the issues surrounding the universal abolition of the death penalty, but also to disseminate more widely a culture of human rights that allows them to embody, promote and defend these values.

ECPM’s educational action falls within the field of Human Rights Education, and more broadly within that of Education for Citizenship and International Solidarity (ECSI). A real lever for promoting human rights, the program fully participates in the construction of citizenship and the strengthening of the power to act of its main target audiences: young people in schools, young people who have “broken away” from society, the educational community. It addresses the death penalty in relation to other themes such as freedom of expression, inequalities, discrimination and women’s rights. It makes people think about situations of exclusion, discrimination, respect for living together and demonstrates the indivisibility of human rights. Led to reflect on human rights and justice, young people are encouraged to become responsible and committed actors, aware of their role in building a more just and equitable society.

The program is carried out with two main partners, the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace of Caen (2IDHP) and the International Network for Education on Abolition (RIEA), in three main regions: Ile-de-France, Normandy, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

To support the implementation of the program, ECPM is looking for an Education and Training project manager, on a permanent contract, from January 2024.
