Economic Recovery Officer (Guasdualito) Apure At Danish Refugee Council


The Dánes Refugee Council is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in more than 40 countries to provide adequate assistance and protection to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees, people on the move and vulnerable local people / communities host. DRC is currently seeking a highly qualified Economic Recovery Officer based in Guasdualito – Apure, Venezuela.

About work:

DRC is managing its operations in Venezuela, under the direction of the country office in Caracas and three field offices located in the states of Sucre, Apure and Zulia. DRC Venezuela is implementing activities such as protection monitoring, legal assistance, individual protection assistance for PWSN, information sessions for PoC, prevention of human trafficking, rehabilitation of health infrastructure and food security.

Objectives of the position:

: Under the supervision of the EcReC Leader Team, the EcRecm officer will support the operational implementation of the Apure Economic Recovery program under the DRC guidelines. He will be in charge of the correct implementation of the activities in the field, related to the selection of communities and families for subsequent distributions of food baskets, in addition to training on safe feeding issues. Also the accompaniment in others of Livelihoods in production and production trades. Additionally, it will support the Team Leader in identifying additional activities in the areas of interest. The Economic Recovery Officer will ensure that all program implementation plan activities are developed and all regulatory documents are compiled for the proper process,such as application of evaluations in KOBO, completion of operational program tools, attendance lists, informed consent, delivery lists, among others. It will maintain good communication with team members and guarantee the good development of the personnel in their charge, as well as assertive communication between the Team Leader, base manager and the rest of the personnel at the base. Responsibilities:

  • Implement the activities of the economic recovery program described in the project implementation plan.
  • Accompaniment in community activities, selection of communities, application of FGD and KI, characterization of the target population, development and monitoring of eligible beneficiaries in all EcRec processes.
  • Articulation (from the technical part), with the Specialist Partners in matters of productive trades and poultry farming.
  • Support the leading Team in the identification and implementation of projects in the communities of interest.
  • Implement complementary project activities such as IP training and community leaders
  • Systematically coordinate with the Protection and DPP and WASH teams the operational support of activities in the territory.
  • Guarantee the compilation of the MoVs required for the implementation of project activities.
  • Prepare the periodic planning for the delivery of aid in accordance with the provisions of communication to the leading Team, the base and support manager.
  • Report and analyze information on tools used from the EcRec program.
  • Organization and control of the logistics operator in EcRec deliveries.
  • Guarantee the protection approach in humanitarian assistance deliveries, in accordance with the guidelines established in the care protocols.
  • Ensure the highest quality of economic recovery activities in food baskets and complementary kits in food security and livelihoods articulated with Protection and Partners.
  • Track all processes by updating the Team Leader of the processes running in the program.
  • Guarantee the adequate reception, classification, distribution and registration of humanitarian aid to the identified population.
  • Identify together with the protection team the complementary activities in relation to the Protection components and others.
  • Track and update each of all actions executed from the EcRec program.

Experience and technical skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable, relevant experience in humanitarian work related to an NGO or other non-profit organization.
  • Experience of complex terrain and in the context of armed conflict.
  • Work experience with urban, and / or rural, and / or indigenous communities.
  • Excellent experience and ability to relate to people.
  • Indispensable experience in Food kids livelihood and distribution interventions.
  • Above average writing skills.
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in managing databases.
  • Management of the toolbox kobo and analysis of the information collected.

Education:

  • University degree in relevant areas (eg political science, law, international development, social work, psychology, human rights), or equivalent professional qualification. Agricultural Engineer with technical capabilities in humanitarian work.
