The position of Deputy Director assumes the following general objectives:
- Responsible for leading, developing, coordinating and managing mission activities linked to the macro-process of project production and implementation (MP2), in close collaboration with the Country Director.
- Responsible for promoting, consolidating and monitoring the management of key stakeholders of the Venezuela mission.
- Co-responsible along with the Country Director for designing and promoting the mission strategy, annual programming, operations, security and relationships with other entities.
The main activities you will perform are the following:
- Objective 1: Ensure quality in the project cycle throughout the mission (identification, formulation in collaboration with the Grant Manager, project implementation and monitoring, reporting and evaluation)
- Objective 2: Strategic Planning
- Objective 3: Human Resources: Improve the management, coordination and communication of the teams in Action Against Hunger
- Objective 4. Strategic relationships and alliances with civil society organizations, private companies, universities and various foundations.
- Objective 5: Financial Management and Planning. Objective 6: Security Management
Does this description fit you?
- Knowledge of international cooperation and/or economic development. Minimum 3 years’ experience working in humanitarian and/or development project management and in monitoring project implementation (including MEAL, budgeting and budget control) and compliance and reporting to donors.
- Minimum experience of 2 years in the management and leadership of human teams, management of counterparts and/or partners, and inter-institutional coordination (allied actors, public institutions, etc.)
- Work experience in projects funded by ECHO, Canada, BHA, GAC, SIDA, UN. Experience in Latin America. High capacity for relationships and institutional representation. Strategic and operational planning
- Spanish and English essential. High rigor in monitoring the Questions, Complaints and Answers System.
- Advanced use of computer tools and the Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.). Desirable use of GIS and statistical programs
Our remuneration package:
- Base: Caracas
- Contract: Indefinite (minimum commitment 2 years)
