JOB SUMMARY

The Deputy CR for Programs and Partnerships is responsible for overseeing the health and nutrition programs in Gaza, this includes oversight of ongoing programs as well as the ability to assess organizational capacity to respond to evolving needs including interaction with the deployment coordinator to ensure that there is close correlation between types of specialists requested from the ground and the volunteers recruited by MedGlobal. This role requires knowledge of the current context in Palestine, a medical background to ensure expert oversight, and the ability to engage with cluster leads and other NGOs to identify pathways towards collaboration and sustainability of programming. A critical part of this role is the ability to communicate effectively with the operational team and country representative as well as a keen understanding of how to multi-task and remain organized in a very dynamic setting. It is important to note that under the flag of health includes MHPSS and Maternal and Child health programming.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee Health Programs

  • Meet regularly with program lead for Health, MHPSS and Maternal/Child Health activities
  • Work with the team to ensure attendance at all relevant cluster meetings and provide summary report on the health needs identified and organizational capacity to respond if at all
  • Ensure programs have clear M&E metrics to track health outcomes whenever possible
  • Review data inputs from activities to identify any clinical gaps that need to be addressed
  • Through regular field visits, interface with medical leads from MedGlobal health programs to identify and clinical gaps or training needs
  • Ensure that standard of care is upheld whenever feasible and clinical algorithms and policies and protocols are reviewed to ensure compliance
  • Foster relationships with iNGOS, NNGOS and UN agencies as a method to identify funding opportunities and collaborative opportunities

Oversee Nutrition Programs

  • Meet regularly with program lead for Nutrition
  • Work with the team to ensure attendance at all relevant cluster meetings and provide summary report on the nutrition needs identified and organizational capacity to respond if at all
  • Ensure all nutrition programs have clear M&E metrics to track outcomes whenever possible
  • Review data inputs from activities to identify any clinical gaps that need to be addressed
  • Through regular field visits, interface with medical leads from MedGlobal nutrition programs to identify and clinical gaps or training needs
  • Ensure that standard of care is upheld whenever feasible and clinical algorithms and policies and protocols are reviewed to ensure compliance
  • Foster relationships with iNGOS, NNGOS and UN agencies as a method to identify funding opportunities and collaborative opportunities

Oversee Medical Deployment needs

  • Work with field teams to communicate regularly with the EMTCC in Gaza to identify priority specialists and locations where MedGlobal will deploy volunteers
  • Work with field team and EMTCC to ensure clear coordination and cohesion of medical deployment teams with ongoing MedGlobal programs whenever possible

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, degree in health or nutrition-related fields
  • Field experience in the nutrition and health sector
  • At least 2 years of NGO experience or a minimum of 2 years of experience in health and nutritional programming
  • Experience in training, monitoring & evaluation and project life cycle support
  • Experience with writing successful project proposals, budgeting, and reporting methods
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and project coordination skills
  • Able to maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility when needed
  • Knowledge of the UN and INGOs funding and partnership system
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Fluency in Arabic
  • Full time availability (40 hours of work per week)
