Coordinator(trice) national(e) Burundi

Mensen met een Missie is an international cooperation and solidarity organization that aims to change the beliefs that lead to hatred and violence. To do so, we have joined forces with hundreds of’organisations partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America. With people who dare to go against the current, who put themselves forward and defend justice,’inclusion and’ality. With courageous people who stand up for justice,’inclusion and’ality, often against the tide.

Together, we facilitate dialogue between people on either side of’a conflict. We encourage reflection and discussion on harmful beliefs, in order to reduce mutual hatred and mistrust. Our dedicated team in The Hague, Netherlands, consists of some thirty people, who work daily with passion and commitment to building a world without violence.

In January 2024, Mensen met een Missie launched “The Peace Project”. This 8-year programme aims to transform harmful beliefs, foster cohesion and promote conditions conducive to peace in the DRC, Burundi, and the rest of the world, in Uganda and South Sudan. Key elements of the program include the promotion of alternative narratives, the’encouragement of trauma healing, and the initiation of’a (interfaith) dialogue. We also actively advocate for fair and inclusive policies and practices at the local, national and international levels.

We will collaborate with various stakeholders, including religious actors, both at the national and’international levels. The programme is carried out in partnership with the Dutch foreign ministry and is characterised by an adaptive approach.
