COORDINATOR/TRICE OF THE TUDITUAL PROJECT At Farm Radio International


Introduction

NB: This contract is for one year renewable over three years with the possibility of extension to 5 years

The 5-year Tudituale project in the DRC will increase the resilience of communities in the Kasai Central Province of DRC. Farm Radio International (RRI) is a member of the project consortium and leads communication work for social and behavioural change using interactive radio and other methods.

Overview of the position

The Project Coordinator/Coordinator supervises the planning, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation and closure of the Tudituale project in the DRC. He or she directly supervises a small team of 1-2 technical officers (e)s in the DRC and collaborates closely with other departments and RRI staff at headquarters and at the regional level. The Coordinator/Coordinator reports mainly to the Senior Programme Officer, Africa of the’West.

Responsibilities

  1. Planning of the Tuditual project in the country
  • Develop agreements/contracts with project partners or consultants
  • S’s ensure that policies and approaches related to RRI projects are respected
  • Develop plans for the implementation of projects in collaboration with Project Managers and specialized teams
  • Collaborate in the’ development of a Codified Expenditure Plan in collaboration with the’ finance team
  • S’ ensure that the contributions of the Specialized Teams are coordinated, validated and delivered
  • Participate in the planning meetings with the donors or other members of the implementation consortium

Coordination of the implementation of the Tudituale project in the country

  • Develop the weekly, monthly and quarterly work plans in collaboration with the’ project team
  • Oversee the execution of project tasks and regularly update work plans
  • S’ ensure that the contributions of the Specialized Teams correspond to the standards defined according to the work plan
  • Making logistical arrangements for effective implementation (e.g., availability of means of transport, authorizations, advances of’allocations)
  • S’ ensure that all project expenditures are properly codified and recorded and ensure that expenditure plans are updated when necessary
  • Review and finalize plans, documents and implementation reports
  • Coordinate contributions and manage’ development and submission of donor reports in accordance with the schedule

Monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (SERA)

Under the supervision of SERA’s Specialist’ Manager team and in close collaboration with the Senior Programme Officer, West’ Africa, the person sought will be expected to contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities, including, research,’learning and knowledge sharing of the’organisation. Specifically, he/she will need to:

  • Contribute to the design of’inquiries and other assessment tools
  • Participate in data generated by surveys, interviews, qualitative assessments, auditors/auditors responses to on-air/online surveys
  • Contribute to the drafting of the basic study reports, mid-term evaluation and final evaluation of’
  • Write project summaries (briefs) highlighting project results, learning and implications in terms of best practices
  • Organize or contribute to the’experience of capitalization processes with project partners and stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, titles and requirements

  • 5+ years of experience’ in project coordination, especially in communication for development or rural development
  • University degree or certificate in agriculture, communication, international development, environmental studies or related field, a master’s degree (an asset)
  • Experience in team coordination of’
  • Proven skills in project management
  • Excellent research, data evaluation and writing skills

Knowledge & skills

  • Significant knowledge of the principles of GENDER EQUALITY and women’s rights and experience in the’integration of these principles in the project cycle
  • Knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of a project, including results-based management
  • Knowledge of the principles of communication for development and/or broadcasting and of ICTs
  • Knowledge of national or international donors and strategic or implementation partners in West’ Africa
  • Mastery of French, with very good written and oral communication skills

Others

  • Excellent intercultural communication skills
  • Good capabilities in’organization and time management; ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Being at the’ to work with a minimum of supervision and limited resources
  • Good English skills and knowledge of’other DRC languages
  • Willing to work from Kasia Centrale
  • Experience working in international NGOs
  • Knowledge of the feminist politics of Canadian international’aide
