About this job
The office in Peru is responsible for promoting and developing the Bank’s strategies and programming with the country. The office supports the process, negotiation and administration of specific projects and programs; promotes and coordinates the use of funds administered by the Bank or under parallel financing agreements; and monitors procurement activities related to operations carried out by Bank borrowers and beneficiaries.
We are looking for a consultant / operations analyst with experience in managing projects financed with resources from international organizations. Its objective will be to support the management of all stages of loan and technical cooperation projects: preparation, monitoring, supervision, and closing.
what you will do
- Support and provide for the preparation, supervision, and closure of development projects, with special emphasis on multi-year planning, risk identification, and monitoring of the indicators established in the results matrix.
- Maintain a close relationship with the executing agencies of the sectors under their responsibility, responding to their queries, training needs and other requirements
- Review procurement processes; analyze and process disbursement requests, determining their relevance and eligibility of expenses
- Support the head of operations in the integral management of the portfolio in each of the stages of the project and propose recommendations for the adequate coordination of the projects.
- Organize the main processes associated with the portfolio management function, in particular those related to the setting of portfolio objectives, the preparation of work plans to achieve those objectives, the definition of annual indicators of portfolio performance and goals to measure such achievement, monitoring and reporting on the status of the portfolio and ensure that those objectives are met.
- Support the preparation of reports requested by senior management, including the country strategy and the operating program report.
what you will need
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of Peru or a citizen of one of our 48 member countries with legal or residency permission to work in Peru.
- Consanguinity: you have no relatives (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) who work in the IDB Group.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in areas related to project management, such as Economics, engineering, law, architecture, urban planning, business administration, finance or related areas.
- Experience: You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in activities related to project management in the public sector, preferably financed with multilateral bank resources.
- Languages: Spanish and English with oral and written proficiency.
