Duties andResponsibilities

– Supporting governance of Project/Program reporting for data completeness and data quality – Supporting Project Managers and Program Managers with related documentation (e.g., producing meeting minutes, Project or Program Briefs, and so forth) and using project and program management tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA, ServiceNow and SharePoint) as applicable – Promote the Standardization of templates for project and program documentation. – Assist with audit-related controls (ensuring all projects adhere to defined controls in place) – Monitoring/reporting of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and governance related to UNICC’s portfolio – The candidate can be pulled into projects with limited responsibilities (shadowing what a senior does, be designated Officer in Charge (OIC) for backing up a Project Manager) – Oversee the efficiency of the Reporting process in PMO and perform duties in monitoring portfolio, program, and project related data (metrics and measurements) – Assist with the analysis of PMO related data (e.g., Project financial status, Lessons Learned) – Support Pre-Sales activities related to RFI, RFP and Response to Bids in coordination with Business Relationship Managers – Contribute to the continuous development and optimization of PMO processes, procedures and tools used by Project and Program Managers. – Undertake any other administrative tasks as specified by the Project Management Office (PMO) Governance team.

Qualifications/special skillsAcademic Qualification A university degree or master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines. Experience:

  •  A minimum of 2 years experience for a bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 1 year for a master’s degree in IT work experience on a fast-paced IT environment. Knowledge and experience of IT projects and Services is essential.
  •  At least 2 years of experience in project administration, project control, project management office or similar. Agile, PRINCE2 or MSP Practitioner certification preferred.
  •  Working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred. Proactiveness and attention to detail, with the ability to self-improve and learn new skills is required. The resource MUST have the following skills and experience:
  •  At least 2 years of IT work experience
  •  Professional IT background, ideally with IT project delivery within PMO, IT Managed Services, IT outsourcing industry, IT Consultancy Experience.
  •  Knowledge or experience with Pre-Sales, RFPs for Bids is preferred.
  •  Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  •  Knowledge on any of the following areas: ITIL Framework and / or Project Management Office within an IT context
  •  Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  •  Knowledge of project management framework and methodologies, flowcharts, project documentation, etc.
  •  Expert knowledge of English is required. The resource SHOULD have the following skills and experience:
  •  Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  •  A high degree of initiative, being independent and able to work with little supervision.
  •  A high level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgement and maturity.
  •  Ability to deliver quality results within a limited timeline.
  •  Experience with Jira or some other Agile development tools is highly beneficial
  •  Customer-centric approach to delivery, awareness of Service Excellence principles
  •  Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
  •  Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks and comfortable with short deadlines.
  •  Understanding of the UN system is desirable.
  •  Experience in working with remote teams.
  •  Ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems.
  •  Able to complete administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
  •  Knowledge on any of the following areas would be preferred: Office 365, PowerBI, Automation, Data visualization & Analytics Desirable certifications:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in business administration, IT, or related field.

  •  The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
  •  Remuneration for this consultancy will be 1,300 USD and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
  •  The incumbent can be in any of UNRWA fields of operations (Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, or West Bank).

Additional InformationUNRWA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) that aims to enhance livelihood and human development opportunities to Palestine refugees in Gaza. By this new collaboration, UNRWA becomes a provider of Information Management, Technology services and capacity augmentation to UNICC technical team, on a cost recovery basis through IMTD/IT Service Center (ITSC) in HQ-Gaza. United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) is a UN agency that provides IT services to other UN agencies on a cost recovery basis. Comprising of one of the largest groups of certified Prince2 and Agile project management experts and practitioners, UNICC’s Project and Programme Services offer clients with services ranging from light-touch project management, end-to-end project management, and program management. Client stakeholders can expect budget transparency, timely realization of milestones, improved controls and reporting and compliance. Via deployment of shared resources to serve Clients and provide economies of scale, benefits include adherence to project best practices, processes, templates and development, maintenance, and storage of project templates and/or project documentation. UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking for Consultant – Project Support Admin to provide administrative support with project management services. The Project Support Admin will be responsible to support and assist Project managers with the efficient execution of projects. The candidate will also have to complete office administrative tasks under the direction of a team of Project Managers. The consultant will report administratively to Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarter Gaza and technically to United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC).
