Cesvi in Venezuela

Since 2019, Cesvi has been working in Venezuela with initiatives in the field of protection of children and women in high vulnerability, including survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation. Starting in 2021, Cesvi began to implement projects financed by the Country Humanitarian Fund in communities in Caracas.

During 2024-25, Cesvi will implement the “ Multisectoral Humanitarian Assistance project to meet the urgent needs of the most vulnerable people in Venezuela ”, which aims to strengthen the availability of protection services, primary health and humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable people and communities affected by the crisis. Cesvi will carry out its activities in the State of Falcón, based in Coro, and frequent trips to other municipalities.

To meet these objectives, the formation of a high-level technical team capable of giving effective responses to the populations served during case management is required; for that purpose, Cesvi is looking for a Social Worker to investigate the social context, structure and family dynamics, the economic situation and the support networks available for the reintegration of migrant adult women victims of the crime of human trafficking and violence. gender, and based on such investigations, supporting in the elaboration of the Personalized Intervention plan and in the reconstruction of the life project.

Objective of the position: Implement strategies with a focus on human rights, gender and child protection, adapted to the local reality of the communities in response to the protection needs identified in these areas, strengthening the formal and / or informal community structures present under a differential and intercultural approach. Supporting in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the community approaches of the project, as well as the training strategies of the different components of the project. Carrying direct communication with community leaders and developing strategies for the entry, permanence and initial diagnosis of communities.

Description of functions:

At the technical implementation level:

  • Carry out the community entry strategy and support in the identification of risk and protection factors in the territory.
  • Develop feedback spaces that allow a community diagnosis of the territories where the project will be executed
  • Identify key actors within the communities for the safe entry of the CESVI technical team into the territories.
  • Carry out community convening and articulation activities for the execution of the activities planned by CESVI for each component of the project.
  • Develop and / or complement a community process for education and training on topics identified according to the needs identified in the framework of the project, in close collaboration with the project protection team and the local counterpart, taking into account the needs and relationships of gender, age and diversity in the community.
  • Support in the development and implementation of sensitizations regarding the protection and defense of the human rights of women and children.
  • Assist in the identification and planning of exit strategies and intervention plans, aimed at the beneficiary population, in the area of their competence.
  • Accompany (with the community vision) the execution of activities foreseen in the project.
  • Timely inform alerts associated with the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of the component that affects the scope of the project’s indicators and objectives.
  • Immediately inform the Project Coordinator and the Head of Mission on key issues for the safety and protection of beneficiaries, communities and project team.
  • Contribute to the risk registry and proactively propose mitigation measures.

At the Monitoring and monitoring level:

  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of training, empowerment and community strengthening activities with a view to creating and maintaining safe spaces in community centers and / or institutions.
  • Prepare statistical and / or management reports according to the requirements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and final reports on the status of the component’s implementation, within the deadlines set in the work plan.
  • Support in the monitoring and monitoring of care and activities to meet the program’s indicator goals.
  • Keep the means of reporting and verification associated with community mobilization activities updated, guaranteeing respect for the principle of data protection.

Others:

  • Support, in coordination with the rest of the project team, in the logistics and administration of activities.
  • Support the preparation and review of informative material, in the area of its competence.
  • Participate in team and supervision meetings.
  • Participate in the processes of formation and exchange of experiences to which they are summoned.
  • The other functions that are assigned to him by his immediate superior and that are related to the nature of the position.

Essential attributes

Training :

Bachelor of Education, social work, psychology, or related careers.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in similar positions and knowledge on VBG and / or child protection issues.
  • Experience in the humanitarian field and / or in territories with complex contexts and limited resources
  • Previous work with the population of Boys, girls and adolescents.

Competences:

  • Propositional and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a culturally diverse team.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues, partners, local authorities and other stakeholders.

Preferred attributes

  • Solid Microsoft Office Package domain (to be evaluated in technical test).
  • Mastery of data collection tools.

The position is exclusive for Venezuelan people or with valid documentation to work in the country.

Conditions:

  • Location: Venezuela Edo. Falcón, Coro
  • Contract duration: 3 months with possibility of renewal, includes Three (3) months of trial.
