Expected durationTwo full-time positions are available from start date for a period of (1) 9 months and (2) 6 months respectively with the possibility of extension for an additional six months depending on satisfactory performance, scope of work and availability of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Provide technical support to UN Country teams for the development, design and implementation of common premises projects. This may include: a) Support to operational management Teams to initiate projects b) Technical assistance for example in the calculation of space. cost benefit analysis etc. c) Review of submissions top the Task Team on Common Premises. d) Any other technical guidance.
  •  Contribute to the development of the Common Premises platform in the capacity of business expert in coordination with the UNINFO team.
  •  Coordination support during the roll out of the Common Premises methodology on the UNINFO platform.
  •  Assist in the preparation of training materials and delivery of training for Common Premises.
  •  Assist in the preparation of outreach material such as one pager, articles, Op-eds, updates, newsletters, power points for targeted agency and UN Country team briefings for common premises and contribute to Branch’s communication on internal communication platforms, such as the UNSDG website updates, Yammer groups, and SharePoint and other means of community engagement.
  •  Assist in the preparation of material for the TTCP+FS meeting discussions on project cases
  •  Technical support in maintaining the TTCP+FS templates and toolkit including review and update of material. Indicators for Evaluation of Deliverables
  •  Timeliness in delivery of documents and response to clients
  •  Accuracy of Technical support
  •  Ability to work constructively with internal and external partners. Work implies frequent interaction with the following: Internal DCO colleagues, and various UN system partners, as well as members of the client group.

Qualifications/special skillsThis position is home based within the Country Business Strategy Section (CBSS) in DCO/ office New York. This position is under the supervision of the Common Premises Global Lead and the Chair of the Task Team on common premises and Facilities Services. Two positions are available, Full-time from start date for a period of (1) 9 months and (2) 6 months respectively with the possibility of extension for an additional six months depending on satisfactory performance, scope of work and availability of funds. Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, real estate or related fields. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry (space planning or architecture or engineering or real estate or Facilities Management) or related field. Working knowledge on platform development is an asset; Experience with working on interagency common premises is an asset.

LanguagesFluency in English is required, knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset
