Child Protection Specialist At Educo


Educo (member of the ChildFund alliance in Spain) is a global development NGO. We defend children’s rights and promote sustainable social change by improving the conditions of vulnerable populations, especially children. Therefore, our action is based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our three institutional objectives are: education, protection and empowerment and child agency.

We work in Spain and in countries in Africa, America and Asia, through social projects in which more than 550,000 children participate, adolescents and 150,000 adults to promote fair and equitable societies that guarantee their rights and well-being.

¿WHAT IS THE FINALITY OF THIS WORKING POSITION?

He will be the person responsible for guiding the definition and implementation of the programmatic strategy for Child Protection at a global level. It will provide relevant methodologies and approaches that amplify the impact of development cooperation programs and humanitarian action and support EDUCO’s positioning as a leading organization in Child Protection.

¿WHAT TYPE OF PROFESSIONAL ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a committed person, with interest and capacity for learning and continuous improvement, oriented to the mission, and with solid technical knowledge and experience in the development and management of child protection programs in the field of international development cooperation and / or humanitarian action.

The position requires work capacity in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, in different languages, proactive attitude, as well as organizational capacity, and interpersonal communication.

FUNCTIONS

• Lead the definition and monitoring of EDUCO’s global programmatic strategy on child protection

• Provide technical advice in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of strategic programs and projects in child protection, in coordination with our teams and partners in the different countries of action.

• Dynamize institutional learning in child protection issues, promoting the institution’s knowledge of context and trends with an attentive look at innovation

• Represent Educo in thematic groups and networks at European and international level (Joining Forces Alliance, Alliance for the Protection of Children in Humanitarian Action, Keeping Children Safe, etc.)

• Guide and advise the development of positions of the institution in topics related to child protection, Advocacy campaigns, communication content, research.

• Spokesperson for topics related to Child Protection

• Deputy Global Focal Point for institutional safeguard policies: Protection Policy and Good Treatment for girls, boys and adolescents and Protection Policy against harassment, sexual abuse and exploitation.

REQUIREMENTS

– University education to some degree in the branch of social sciences and / or child protection (pedagogy, law, psychology, social education …)

– High knowledge of the international cooperation / humanitarian action sector

– Training and / or experience in managing international cooperation projects and / or humanitarian action in the field of child protection

– Training and / or complementary experience in children’s rights, gender equality, violence prevention, good treatment and in socio-affective and / or participatory methodologies.

– Experience in formulation, management, technical and economic justification of public and private subsidies

– Experience in planning, creation and revitalization of content, organization and facilitation of participatory training processes, workshops, etc.

– Experience in preparing reports, diagnoses and teaching materials – User level domain of the MS package. Office and experience in online training, use of digital tools, virtual and audiovisual platforms

– High level of Spanish, English and French at written and spoken level

LOCATION

The person hired will be part of the global team of Educo programs.

The job will be located in one of the EDUCO offices. (Preferably Barcelona)

CONDITIONS AND DURATION OF THE CONTRACT

Remuneration: according to the organization’s salary tables

Type of Contract and Duration: Indefinite full time.
