PUI works in 10 sectors of’intervention and is distinguished by the implementation of’an integrated approach in its response. This method aims to identify and understand the’ set of needs of people affected by a crisis. Our teams are mobilizing to provide a global response to the’ set of basic needs of populations victims of humanitarian crises in the’ emergency to allow them to regain autonomy and dignity.

Focus on our activities in CAMEROON

Our mission in Cameroon exists since 2008. PUI is developing its integrated approach through a humanitarian response to the populations affected by the crises in the region of’Extreme-Nord. Specifically, PUI has been a leader in the Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) since 2017. PUI works implements activities in nutrition, food security and means of’s, Shelters/Menageries Essentielles, water, hygiene and sanitation. In parallel, PUI in Cameroon has initiated since 2021 a process of transfer of skills to Cameroonian civil society organizations on the themes of emergency response’ within the framework of the Rapid Response Mechanism. Today, the mission consists of 2 projects, thanks to funding from DG ECHO and the Crisis and Support Centre.

And the.the Chef· of Mission in all this?

As Head of Mission, you will be responsible for the proper functioning and development of the mission.

For this purpose, your responsibilities will be as follows :

  • Security: You will be responsible for security on the mission
  • Programmes : You will coordinate the teams and ensure the proper implementation of the programs on the mission, you will follow the needs and propose new interventions and avenues of development for the mission.
  • Human Resources: You will ensure the proper human dimensioning of the mission and supervise the teams (definition of’objectives, monitoring).
  • Logistical, administrative and financial monitoring: You will ensure that the logistical and administrative practices in place respect the PUI procedures and formats and are in line with the Bailleurs rules.
  • Medical and technical follow-up: You will ensure that medical and technical practices comply with PUI procedures and formats and are in line with the PUI’ intervention policy.
  • Representation: You will represent the’association with partners, donors, media and various authorities.
  • Relations with Headquarters: You will ensure the proper flow of information between the headquarters and the field and you will ensure compliance with deadlines.

What’it will take you to succeed

Formation

You can justify a higher degree’ (min. Master 2 or equivalent) in a field related to humanitarian’action: project management, technical training related to’one of our sectors of intervention, human resources management, financial management, etc.

Experience

You are strong of’ at least three years of’ field experience in international NGO, in project coordination. The’expatriate team management experience, in project management, and in safety management is indispensable. Have you ever held the position of Head.fe of Mission or equivalent in an international NGO? This will be highly appreciated. Have you worked with First International Emergency? It will be an undeniable asset!

Skills

You master the management of humanitarian project and the management of’ team, you have a thorough knowledge of the main donors. You have excellent’ writing abilities.

Qualities required

You show a good relational, an ease of communication, both at the’ and’oral, and you have the taste of teamwork. You demonstrate leadership and ability to make decisions, reliability and sense of responsibility, rigor and’organization, responsiveness and’adaptability. You have excellent resistance to stress and an ability to work under pressure.

Languages

L’anglais has no secrets for you ? So much the better, it’is essential for this post ! If you also speak’arabe, it will also be an undeniable asset.

PUI will propose

  • Status: Framework in Contract with Determined Duration
  • Gross monthly salary: 3 330,00 – 3 930,00 EUR according to your experience in international solidarity + 50€ per semester of’seniority with PUI
  • Assurance including medical and complementary health coverage, 24/24 assistance, repatriation and pension
  • Hosting in a detached house (provided allowance)
  • Living expenses (« Per Diem »)
  • **Regime of breaks:**5 working days to 3 and 9 months of mission + break premium
  • **Paid Leave:**5 weeks of CP/year + ticket’avion A/R at home every 6 months
