Chef d’’team Support Psycho – Social At DanChurchAid


Created in 1922, DanChurchAid ( DCA ) is a Danish non-governmental organization whose action is based on rights. Installed in CAR since 2015, DCA provides assistance to the poorest communities in conflict and post-conflict situations through its Humanitarian Action Program « Safer Communities » : risk education for Light and Small Size Weapons ( SALW ), War Remains and Explosives ( REG ); Reduction of Armed Violence ( RVA ) and consolidation of peace & Support Psycho social, Income Generating Activities ( AGR ); distribution of non-food and household goods ( NFI ), Conditional and unconditional Cash ( food coupons, etc. ), distribution of seeds and tools, support to Civil Society organizations for their involvement in the reform of the Security Sector ( RSS ).The DCA in CAR is funded by DANIDA, the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, Echo, the European Union; other funding is being negotiated.

DCA research 2 Team leaders with specialty in Psychology who are experienced to participate in the development and implementation of peacebuilding activities and psychological support in the Central African Republic.

POSITION OBJECTIVE :

Le/la chef(fe) : Expert/e en SPS (Supportien Psycho Social) will put its technical expertise at the service of DCA within the framework of the’intervention « Pathways to’autonomization: advancing the participation of marginalized youth to promote a peaceful and democratic culture in the Central African Republic » funded by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (UNPBF), but may also support other DCA projects and activities in CAR. He/She is familiar with the ICC (Permanent Inter-Organization Committee) Guidelines on mental health and psychosocial support in emergency situations and knows how to adapt these technical guidelines to the needs and constraints of the field. He/She knows the’approach « Trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy »

Under the leadership of the clinical psychologist and in perfect collaboration with stakeholders (Assistant project manager, partners), the/the team Chef(fe) of’ will contribute to all stages of the project cycle and will ensure the good follow-up of the beneficiaries in all the intervention localities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Monitoring & coordination

– Perform a monitoring of the humanitarian situation and psychosocial data

– Participate in humanitarian coordination mechanisms (OCHA, clusters, working groups, national authorities, etc.) and represent DCA as necessary

– Ensure that DCA works in collaboration with RCA Technical Services and that good reports are maintained

Ensure that DCA interventions are coherent and complementary with those of other actors on the ground

PROJECT MANAGEMENT :

  • Support the psychologist in psychosocial needs assessments
  • Ensures the implementation of’a quality psychosocial response
  • Supports social therapy groups and ensures their coaching.
  • Contributes to the updating of the referencing system of protection cases, protection of children, GBVs, cases in need of psycho social support, etc
  • Follow the referencing of cases requiring advanced intervention to specialized centers
  • Ensures the participation of young people in the activities of the project, from development to’evaluation
  • Supports the project manager on technical (psychosocial) issues in the development of project documents, such as concept notes, proposals to donors, etc.
  • Technical monitoring of the « project Ways to empower: advancing the participation of marginalized young people to promote a peaceful and democratic culture in the Central African Republic » in collaboration with the project manager and psychosocial assistants in the implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans and the collection of data according to the specific deadlines of the project.

REPORTING AND EDITING :

In collaboration with the assistant project manager and the spychologist, prepare technical activity reports, progress reports, and other project documentation.

  • Contribute to the drafting of reports and other relevant documents.
  • Work with other DCA teams to ensure integration and coherence of different components of the program
  • Participate in the implementation of psycho social support activities (safety, resilience and capacity building).

Establishment of safe areas according to a community-based, sustainable /sustainable approach Ensure good involvement, collaboration and coordination of local partners, technical services of the State and local authorities

Provide expertise and technical assistance to DCA beneficiaries, implementing partners and/or national staffs with emphasis on accountability policy and practices.

Develop the monitoring plan and ensure the follow-up of the implementation of the projects

Preparation of internal reports and donor reports

GENERAL OBLIGATIONS :

Share with the line supervisor any information relating to security, activities, logistical or administrative problems encountered in the field and in the office

Participate in meetings (weekly, monthly, …)

Report any damage or impairment.

Perform any other task assigned by his superior, professionally

Work in compliance with the Code of Conduct, the SOPs and the DCA security rules.

REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • University degree (License or Master) in Clinical Psychology, Psychology, sociology, development or other adapted field
  • Have a Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF_CBT) certification or experience in implementing this approach in MHPSS activities
  • Common French and Sango with great writing skills
  • Experience in mental health assessment and psychosocial support
  • Experience working with international organizations and in the same field.
  • Experience with projects integrating peacebuilding and protection, Livelihoods, AGRs, Vocational training is an asset
  • Experience working with national and international organizations compulsory ;
  • Good knowledge of the Central African Republic ;
  • Being able to work as a team ;
  • Ability to work under pressure ;
  • Be of Central African nationality.

DURATION OF THE CONTRACT :

Type of contract : CDD

Duration: Twelve ( 12) month with possibility of renewal

Place of employment: Kémo and Nana-Gribizi

Status: The position is reserved only for candidates of Central African nationality
