WHAT WE DO
SOLIDARITY INTERNATIONAL (SI)is an association of’ international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been helping people who are victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to the vital needs, drinking, eating, sheltering. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’ sanitation and the promotion of’hygiene but also in that, essential, of, food security and means of’. Present in more than 20 countries, the SI teams, 2500 people in total, composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers…- intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.
THE MISSION
The mission of Solidarity International (SI) in Chad and Cameroon, named Tchameroun, merged in 2021.
Its coordination is based in Yaounde. It consists of’a country director,’a coordination of programs (coordinator, assistant and SERA manager),’an administration, HR and finance department (coordinator, assistant, assistants),’a logistics department (coordinator, HR and finance, assistant and managers), d’une grant manager and a reporting and communication officer. SI Tchameroun also has three field coordinators (CT).
SI Tchameroun is present in the regions of the Eastern Logone, Lake, Ouaddai and Sila, Chad, the Far North’ (EN) of Cameroon, N’Djamena and Yaounde. The mission receives humanitarian (ECHO and CDCS) and development (AFD) funding. She is currently leading projects of’surgence assistance –EHA, cash transfers-, strengthening the means of’ existence and’access to’eau,’hygiene and’ sanitation. It incorporates a strong dimension of’autonomization and strengthening of civil society organizations and the resilience of the beneficiaries of its projects.

This recruitment notice concerns the post of admin-log for the eastern province of Chad, in charge of the bases of Adre (in Ouaddai), in, goz Beida (in Sila) and Gore (in the Eastern Logon). It is the result of the merger of two positions of log and admin manager, due to the decrease in the volume of activities. The three bases and sub-bases welcome about thirty employees.
JOB DESCRIPTION
General objective :
The/the logistics and administration/finance/HR manager (called “log-admin”) in a locality ensures the administrative, financial and logistical management of the base. He/She accompanies and supervises his team. He/She is the’interlocuteur.trice privileged of the/of the field coordinator for all questions related to the support functions.
Main Challenges :
- The bases of Adre and Goz Beida opened in 2023, in response to the Sudanese crisis. A work of structuring the log and admin departments and of regulating the processes is necessary.
- The Gore base has been around for several years and needs support for better control of procedures.
- Teams are reduced and skills are limited in logistics and administration/finance/HR.
Priorities for the first 2/3 months :
- Finalize regularizations and compliance of procedures.
- Strengthen the skills of the teams of the administration and logistics departments under his responsibility.

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
An employee position : According to experience, from EUR 2310 gross per month (2100 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a Per Diem monthly of EUR 600.
SI also covers accommodation and travel costs between the expatriate’s country of origin and the place of employment.
Breaks : During the mission, a system of alternation between work and leave is set up at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarity International). In addition to these break periods, there is one additional day of rest per month worked.
Social and medical coverage : Expatriates receive insurance that reimburses all health costs (including medical and surgical expenses, dental and ophthalmological care, etc, repatriation) and a contingency system including war risks. Vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are reimbursed.
CONDITIONS OF LIFE :
- The context of’ intervention in eastern and southern Chad is experiencing community and ethnic tensions. The proximity of the borders to Sudan and the CAR can lead to additional tensions. The regions have been host to a large number of people displaced, particularly on the Sudanese border, since the conflict resumed in Sudan in April 2023.
- The cities where the SI bases are located are known to be quiet. However, criminal acts are recorded.
- For all movements in the field, in the localities of intervention, the checks secu must be precise, the means of communication efficient.
- The authorities are looking at humanitarian activities. It is essential to maintain a good relationship and to respect the rules relating to the communication of’information on activities.
SECURITY CONSTRAINTS :
Base of attachment : Adre, regular trips (about once a month) to Goz Beida and/or Gore.
The/log-admin is one of two expatriates for SI in eastern Chad, along with the/the CT. Many international NGOs and UN agencies have offices in Adre, less in Gore and Goz Beida. The living conditions are simple ; some bars exist, the sources of leisure are few.
Within the SI base in Adre (a single office/guest), the/log-admin will have an individual room and SDB. The base is equipped with: water, electricity, internet, air conditioner, television.
MSF is based in Adre and allows immediate care in the event of illness. In the event of a more serious health concern, a transfer to a structure of N’Djamena can be organized.
