MSF / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is one of the world’s largest medical emergency organizations in use wherever human lives are threatened. Armed conflicts, epidemics, pandemics and natural disasters, but also a lack of access to healthcare are among the reasons for our operations.

The: The campaign manager is responsible for the further development and implementation of a commitment plan for doctors without borders in German-speaking Switzerland. This role focuses on optimizing existing and developing new online and offline engagement opportunities in the areas of public engagement, fundraising and human resources. The primary goal is to strengthen the visibility of the organization based on its values and identity and to increase engagement.

Area of responsibility

  • They concentrate on German-speaking Switzerland and work with the corresponding teams, in particular with the teams for communication and fundraising, human resources, medicine.
  • Development and implementation of a strategic engagement plan tailored to German-speaking Switzerland.
  • Increasing the visibility and reputation of Doctors Without Borders in the German-Swiss media and public forums, whereby new and different target groups should be addressed.
  • Participation in targeted fundraising activities and donor loyalty initiatives.
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with the most important stakeholders, especially within medical communities in German-speaking Switzerland, in cooperation with our MSF Switzerland delegates.
  • Development and support of recruitment initiatives in collaboration with the HR department.

Your main tasks:

Strategy development and implementation:

  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive engagement strategy for German-speaking Switzerland, which is tailored to the strategic goals of MSF Switzerland.
  • Identification and creation of new opportunities for engagement while optimizing existing activities.
  • Identification of medical topics that justify the development of new engagement opportunities.

Communication and public engagement:

  • In cooperation with the team for public engagement, strengthen and expand the visibility and image of Doctors Without Borders in the German-Swiss media.
  • Organization and participation in events, forums and debates to make the mission and activities of Doctors Without Borders more visible.

Involvement of stakeholders:

  • In coordination with the delegates of Doctors Without Borders: maintaining and developing relationships with key stakeholders, including medical communities, civil society organizations and potential partners.
  • If necessary and in coordination with the responsible teams, you act as a speaker for certain topics.
  • Propose new partnerships with external interest groups in German-speaking Switzerland.

Fundraising:

  • Cooperation with the fundraising team to develop targeted campaigns for the German-Swiss market.
  • Support for the fundraising and philanthropy department at events, webinars and digital channels for contacting donors.

Recruitment and HR collaboration:

  • Organization of online / offline events on the subject of personnel marketing in German-speaking Switzerland in cooperation with the responsible HR teams.
  • Cooperation with the HR department to improve recruitment strategies and employer branding in German-speaking Switzerland.
  • Support of the Department of Fundraising and Philantropy in contacting them, correspondence and events with donors: inside and supporters.

Digital engagement:

  • Strategic use of digital channels to increase engagement and fundraising efforts.
  • Coordination of the production of useful content with the teams for digital engagement and creative content, for example to ensure that the materials are written directly in German.

training

  • University degree in communication, marketing, public relations or a related area.

experience

  • Professional experience in the areas of communication or marketing. Management of successful (integrated) engagement campaigns, ideally in the NPO / NGO sector.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian and / or health sector is an advantage.

languages

  • German as the first language
  • Good knowledge of English
  • French is an advantage.

Expertise

  • Excellent writing and content production skills; distinctive digital competence and experience in dealing with digital media.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strategic and analytical as well as networked thinking.

Our conditions of employment

  • Full-time position 100% (40h / week).
  • Temporary contract (maximum 12 months).
  • Place of work: Zurich
  • Ideal start date: 02.09.2024
  • Gross annual salary (at 100%): from CHF 93,504.00 to CHF 107,280.00 (salary depending on the equivalent experience and the internal wage table).
  • Paid holidays: 25 days a year, pro rata temporis, plus Swiss holidays that fall within the contract period.
  • Pension fund: contribution to the pension fund (2nd Pillar BVG), which is covered by 3/4 of MSF and 1/4 by the employee.
  • Relocation help when moving from another country to Switzerland.
